Yup, for a couple of reasons. First off, it kills your metabolism, slows it down because you are so inactive right after eating. Second, it's really hard on the digestion, causing many different problems like blockages, gas, cramping, you know, everything Pepto Bismol takes care of. And lastly, you absorb the nutrients in the food poorly. So quit it. Eat fruit if you need a snack, that's light enough to stay tame.

no its just a myth. many cultures eat dinner late. in spain, portugual, and most of latin america for example people don't eat until 9pm or 10pm. sometimes even later. this is on a regular basis. these countries do not have an obesity epidemic.
a calorie is a calorie it does not matter where it comes from and what time you eat it. as a food scientist i can tell you that all you hear about eating late, how bad carbs are, ect ect is bull.
one issue that i can think of as far as how you space your meals are people with glycemic related health issues. such as diabetics who should eat every 2-3 hours. they may not want to eat a huge meal before bedtime because it would raise their blood sugar and without any activity to bring it down that might be a problem. for the rest of us, healthy people, our bodies regulate our blood sugar levels very efficiently and so it isnot be an issue.
the other issue is if you do not eat for the entire day and then eat only late at night. what happens then is that people tend to be starving and over compensate for not having eaten all day. its a fact that the majority of obese people do not eat breakfast, many do not eat lunch! so by the time dinner rolls around they are starving and instead of eating say the 1800-2400 a day the average person needs ( depending on age, weight, and activity level) they can eat 3000+ sometimes more!
so in other words as long as you do not fall into the above categories you should be fine.

This all depends on what time you go to bed. If you eat late, but are still up for a few hours after meal time, then it's the same as eating earlier. For example, if you eat at 9:30 p.m., but are then up until midnight or later, it is the same as eating at 6:00 and going to bed at 9:00.

You just need to have enough time after the meal for dinner to digest before going to sleep.

Otherwise, you may feel fine, however, if this becomes habit the food will not digest properly, and you could find yourself gaining weight rather quickly.

You should not eat a heavy meal 2 or 3 hours before bed-time.

Yes it is because youre putting unneeded energy into your body. You put all that food and calories in and you dont use any of it once to you go bed so it turns into fat and you gain weight. Try to keep it before 8pm at the very latest

They say that the body's metabolism slows down at night when at rest, so you won't burn as many calories as you would earlier in the day when active. Eat light.

It is not good to eat a heavy meal and then go to bed. You need a couple or three hours before you go to bed.
