When my dog dies will I see her in Heaven?

I hope so. I have had several good pets both cats and dogs that deserve it more than many of the people I’ve met. On the other hand if ants have souls I’m in deep trouble.

Nowhere does Scripture explicitly state that animals do not have souls...There is nothing in Scripture I know of that would preclude the possibility of animals' continued existence...The Bible does give us some reason to hope that departed animals will be restored. We read in the Bible that redemption is a cosmic matter. The whole creation is destined to be redeemed through the work of Christ (Romans 8:21), and we see the images of what heaven will be like; beautiful passages of Scripture tell us about the lion and lamb and other animals being at peace with one another.(Isaiah 11:6-8). Whenever heaven is described, though it may be in highly imaginative language, it is a place where animals seem to be present. Whether these are animals newly created for the new heavens and the new earth, or they are the redeemed souls of our pets that have perished, we can't know for sure.

I'm getting close to that predicament myself. My dog is 15, deaf and has arthritus.

As a Christian I can say that the Bible doesn't answer that question. Though many Christians presume there is no afterlife for animals. But the Bible simply doesn't tell us, seeing as it's written concerning our own fate.

However animals are well honored in the Bible. For example while animal sacrifice may seem cruel, consider that such sacrifices God instituted to cover sins in anticipation of the atoning work of Christ. Thus God holds animals in high regards. Did you know that only once a year could the high priest enter the most holy place, but not without the blood of an animal.

Also in Revelation Christ was personified by two animals - a lion and a lamb. I don't know what will happen to my dog, but I know God is good and loves animals (he made so many of them), and he knows we love them. So, while uncertain, I am hopeful with regards to the afterlife for my dog.

Yes in fact they do. There are passages in the bible that prove this. Here are just a few. You might read Will I see Fido in Heaven? It has far more scriptures about God’s plans for his lesser creatures.

Revelation 5:13
“Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing.” [NIV study bible]

Every creature in Heaven and (on earth) was singing. If animals did not go to heaven the use of the word Creature seems odd.

Romans 8:19
“The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the Creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it.”

The animals did no wrong but because of what Man did, they too must suffer. They pay the price for what Man did. God’s lesser creatures were not given free will, but man was. Man choose to sin and as result all of gods creation suffers.

Job 12: 10 (The living bible)
“For the Soul of every living thing is in the hand of God, ..”

Psalm 145: 9-10 (NIVSB)
“The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.
All you have made will praise you O’Lord”

Psalm 145: 21
“Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever.”

One day all of God’s creation will worship and praise him, for eternity. All of his creation: Man, Angels and Animals, etc.

Isaiah 11:6-9
“The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat,
The calf and the loin and the yearling together;
And a little child will lead them.
The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the loin will eat straw like the ox.
The infant will play near the hole of the cobra,
and the young child put his hand into the vipers nest.
They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain,
For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”

For the people that say "NO!! NO animals in heaven...!!!"

May I ask..."How did the horses in the Book of Revelation get there??"

no, nor will we. there's no heaven, nor hell, everything was invented so a bunch of people could dominate the masses, you've got to enjoy life while you can, cause it's your only one and you only live it once, that's why it's precious!
