Friend,
Just IGNORE HER PRESENCE.
Do not argue.Do what is best as per your conscience.
Leave her to herself.Do not entertain any topic. After ranting ,ranting ...she stops.
Just IGNORE HER,

Do you live with her? IF so perhaps you get on her nerves too. Ignore her, don't respond.
Is she elderly and maybe needs some attention? If so find a day place for her to go and argue and debate with people her age. In most cities there are cards clubs, flower clubs and crafts. It would give her a place to vent about you....

Your aunt.... your mother or father's sister? Speak to the parent related to her. Let her or him know that you are having difficulty with your aunt and you'd like to make a peaceful resolution. Maybe its just something you are not seeing eye to eye over. Or maybe she's just the argumentative type. Your parent would probably be the best one to help you with your problem. Good Luck!

When Auntie wants to argue and debate. Just smile and say " OK auntie you win. She'll soon get tried and leave you alone. It takes two to argue. So you make it one less.

Sometimes and most of the time Silence is loud! really deafening as the saying goes. She wants/needs food. food like emotion driven back talking --it is her fuel~and when you succumb to her "game" then she wins. If you excuse yourself and leave or sit and change the subject then the 'game' is defused. here is the catch though: you MUST be polite and un affected with emotion. you must be indifferent other wise she will still win. People like that HATE when other people aren't affected by them ... can you tell I have dealt with similar? good luck!

Sucks, doesn't it....too bad we can choose our friends but not our family. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about it except maybe talk to her and tell her how you feel.
Aunts and uncles (and parents and grandparents) feel that because they are older, they can say what they please to you and you can't answer back. Tell her how annoyed it is making you, and that someday you might just snap and say or do something that SHE will regret.
