Hey guys i just asked a question about my dog
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmKiI6HtE_cONe0DndgCRTnsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071008172638AArQ1kZ

Ur answers worried me but thanks nonetheless! Now i forgot to mention these things: My dog up to now is active, even though her face is swollen (and she hates it cuz she keeps scratching it) she is not sick physically, she is still barking and playing a bit. She ate well and now is sleeping, so should i stil be panicky? Her face is still swollen and i think it may very well be the Penincilin. Can that still be a danger? Can she die overnight because of this injection? I am freaking out right now, no vets are opened now so i have to wait it out until the morning. Any tips? I am feeling more guilty cuz i carried her to the vet to get help her lump go down but everything has gotten worse.

Thanks to all those who answered.
I'm praying!

I read your other question, your vet isnt very good if they gave you dog penecillin for an allergy as this isnt an allergy medication.
Your dog could have an allergy to the penecillin, I'm surprised your vet didnt make a recommendation as to a treatment for the swollen face.
You could give your dog childrens benedryl 1 mg per pound. If your dog weighs around 25 lbs a 25 mg capsule would be fine. This will help with the swelling in the face, reduce the allergic reaction, and make your dog sleepy and calm.
I recommend getting another vet because this one isnt very helpful and take your dog there in the morning.

Have you tried to give your dog some Benadryl. Look up on the internet how much to give him/her as I am not sure of the size of you dog. I would try that. Also I would look for a Vet that has an after hours number or check for an emergency Vet clinic. Hope your dog gets better.

I just now read the other question. I have never heard of giving penicillin for an allergy. That is crazy. Have you tried giving it some BENADRYL? Call another vet and tell them the problem and ask about giving benadryl and how much!! That is the proper treatment.

If it has been a few days, I would take her to the vet to get a check up and see what they say about it.

Vets might not be OPENED...but they do take emergency calls!!!!!!!

If you can't get to a vet.....there is nothing to do. Wait and see. We can't do much either!!!! The dog will get better or it won't.
