Your dog is in heat. You can only put her with the male if you want them to breed or if your male is not fixed. Otherwise you will have to wait three weeks. Unless you want to get her fixed.

God some of you on here are downright mean. Did you ever think that maybe she doesn't want to get her dog fixed? Also some breeds of female dog's it is better to let them have one litter and then get them fixed. FYI not all people that have litters of puppies abuse them, neglect them, or just throw them out to be strays.

Dogs don't get a period. They go into heat. You don't just put your dog with a male. Did you read or research at all before you decided to make this mistake?

She must be kept away from males for three weeks from the first show of blood. I recommend spaying, as that will reduce the chances of mammary cancer, and eliminate pyometra, uterine and ovarian cancer, and unwanted litters. Do not just leave her outdoors unattended even if you ahve a fence. Always have her held on a leash with you. Dogs have mated through fences before.

Sure. And then you have to pay hundreds of dollars in prenattal testing, special food, vitamins, x-rays, ultrasounds, not to mention possible playing thousands of dollars for a c-section. Then you have to pay for all the puppies to be wormed, first shots, for the mom to eat a buttload of food while she feeds her pups, then food for the pups as tehy are weaned. Not to mention, you have to take at least a week off work to sit at home with mom and pups to ensure their health and safety after they are born.

Technically - a good breeder would have homes set up for potential puppy owners. Bad breeders wait and then try and find homes, which means more time and more money coming out of your pocket.

So sure - go right ahead, hope it's ok if you also end up flushing thousands of dollars down the drain. Hope it's ok if you are stuck with 3 puppies that you can't sell. And don't even be thinking of taking them to a shelter because you MADE them - you are responsible for them

Get your ***** spayed and save the breeding for people that know what they are doing.

Get the dog spayed/neutered as soon as you can!
I volunteer for a rescue, we spend most of our “free” time rescuing homeless dogs. Always spay or neuter your dog. The appalling pet overpopulation problem results in thousands of pets being euthanized (killed) every day.

Dogs don't have periods. They have heat cycles, when they are receptive to mating. Get her spayed as soon as possible, and your boy neutered, and you won't have to worry about it.
