I recently hooked up hdmi to my samsung and I have comcast cable box and can not get any sound

Make sure you set the set-top box to output in PCM (not Dolby Digital) over HDMI.
Most TVs will not accept Dolby Digital over HDMI.

Make sure that your HDMI port supports both sound and video. Some TVs' HDMI ports only do video, but not sound. For instance, my TV has one HDMI port that will do sound and video, but one port that won't do sound.

Otherwise, try hooking up another device to the HDMI port, to make sure it's not your TV. If that works, then it's definitely the comcast box and you'll have to call them about it.

HDMI video and audio is in one cable. Unless you use DVI to HDMI converter in this case you also need to connect the cable for sound. But I also heard this problem from several of my friend sometimes the sound won't come out maybe there's specification different or something. better contact customer care for sure.

ok, check they wire, mine always was put in the wrong slots, try them all til u get sound. and make sure they're all the way in. They slip off easily it seems, i know, but be patient and try them all on. COMCAST BABAY!
