God would never kill someone because he is a homo or because he follows a different religion. Does that mean that Westboro Baptist Church (Kansas) is the Devil?

Why, then, are homosexuals condemned to death in the Old Testament?

If you are a Christian who believes in the infallibility of the Bible, then you are a Christian who supports killing homosexuals. If you do not, then you do not accept its infallibility, and then you have to decide on what you base your Christian faith.

Fred Phelps and his ilk are strong Calvinists, and they believe that homosexuals are predestined both to be Gay and to be sent to hell. They do not believe that anyone who was not selected by God to be saved will be saved, and that they will go to Hell.

The belief in Hell is a troubling aspect of Christianity that, on its own, brings the entire faith into disrepute and lunacy.

No, I don't think they are the devil but they are evil misguided people doing a lot of damage. Hitler was not the devil. Sadam was not the devil. Nero was not the devil. These people like Westboro simply show the depravity of man. Westboro is a depraved family (the members are almost all one family) no matter how smart they say they are. I mean, Hitler conned the masses. Westboro cons few but they cause enough problems to make me wish they did not exist.
What they do is not freedom of speech or religion but only one of hatemongering.

"Christian view" is a very broad statement. A Christian, by definition, means "Follower of Christ." To different people there will most definately be different interpretations on what that's supposed to mean. I don't agree with what they are doing and I really wish they would stop their graveyard rallying. However, if they truly believe they are doing this as a follower of Christ, then they are no less Christian than a follower of Christ who speaks of love. Personally, I think they're idiots who are using Christ to justify their bigoted views, but they are still Christians if they believe they are following Christ. Christians come in all walks of life. There are some truly good people and there are some people who spew dung in your face. You can't say "This is how Christians behave, think, dress, etc" because each one of them is an individual. Although I share the same title of "Christian" as the Westboro bunch, the title is all I have in common with them. It's like looking at a few jerks in a particular ethnic group. They may all share the same history, but the few jerks do not define the views for the rest of the group. I don't know if I really answered your question or not. "Core of the bible" huh? That's their Christian interpretation. My Christian interpretation is a bit different.

Westboro is a gang of legal bullies who offend people and sue them if they try to defend themselves. Like many people who claim to be Christian, they are more like Old Testament patriarchs. Jesus overturned an eye for an eye. Westboro does not seem to have read the New Testament at all.

Fred Phelps is not a man of god.

Westboro Baptist Church is a cult. Fundementalist churches have stated that Fred Phelps is not one of them. I think calling it the Devil gives it too much credit.

"God would never kill someone because he is a homo"
What about Sodom And Gomorrah? Face it. God kills(in the Bible).
The Westboro church is all old testament. The members use the OT as an excuse for their hate. They arent the devil, they are just devil-like.

If I ever see them at a memorial service for on of our great members of the military, I may need money for bail. They are evil and don't know what God is about.

They are not the devil, but they do not know Jesus either, due to the way they act, their hatred is disgusting. God condemns the sin, and we have ALL fallen short.
