It's Called PARENTAL RESPONSIBLY !

Even National and Local Governments RECOGNIZE that a Person DOESN'T Become an Adult UNTIL they're 18 or 21 years OF AGE !

If the Government RECOGNIZES this Fact; then why SHOULDN'T Parents ALSO ? ? ?

I'm a Jehovah's Witness and I know for a fact that's not true. I know alot of JW's that started dating at 15. They always are with a group of kids or they are chaproned by someone. There is no set age, you just have to be mature enough to handle it and have the goal of marriage in mind. We start dating to get ready for marriage. Ther is no rule saying when to start dating. My sister kind of started dating around 15 or 16 but my parents felt that was to young so I probably will have to wait until I am about 16 or 17. By the way my sister is know 22 and happily married for 3 years and I am 15.

I am a 19 year old Jehovah's witness and i started dating my husband when i was 17--we got married 3 days after my 18th birthday---but had grown up together and went to the same kingdom hall all our lives so we know a lot about each other before we even made the decision to date--we are now very happy and 4 months pregnant.

haha no that isn't true. As long as the two involved are mature enough to handle a relationship then it is encouraged. We don't date just for the sake of dating. JW's should always havethe future in mind and marriage is only for strong couples. Like many teens, though, there parents also have an extent of responsibility. It's good if the teen respects there parents views but there is no set age. It's when they are ready, basically.

group dates are great for younger teens as there isn't nearly as much pressure to make something out of it and you can see what your 'crush' acts like and treats you in front of others.

There is no rule among JWs about that. It is about parents using the responsibility given them as parents to bring up children as responsible people and keeping them safe from themselves sometimes.

Why are parents so eager to toss off any responsibility so quickly? The only rule they enforce now is not playing with matches. That is because the house they burn down might contain the Lazy Boy they are in at the time.

It is up to the individual family to decide when a child is old enough to do something. Certainly, it is not love to throw them out dating or anything else before they can walk or make responsible decisions.

There is no set date. The Bible advises to date when you are ready to be married since the courting process is a step towards marriage. Just a question, if you dated someone at age 13, do you think you would be ready to marry them?

No, dear heart that's not true.
No rule.

The sole purpose of dating
is to see if you are compatible for marriage.
some are eager & ready @ a young age,
some are not.

It mostly depends on your parents~~
and that conforms to All People~
from Everywhere~
of any religious faith.

For myself & my dghtr's;
they were only allowed to go out on group dates.
6 or more kids, all going out together.
And my son was not into that for a long time.
Bookworm, then other things boys do, besides females.
By the time he was 18, 1- I had no say in the matter.
And 2- he dated women, that had a job, a car, apt, etc...

What you have hear about Jehovah's Witnesses is wrong. As always people misinterpret things that they have'nt bothered to ask one of Jehovah's Witnesses straight from the begining. My sister one of Jehovah's Witnesses got married at 18, she started dating at 16 And my brother dated at 16 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Many teen Jehovah's Witnesses date at diffrent ages...although you will notice most take dating very seriously as dating should be for a person who desires to get married. We show respect to our parents and if it is there desire that we date at 18, then we know that this is b/c they want what is best for us. There is'nt a bible verse that says that you should date only at a certain age. That is left up to a persons concience of when he/she can date.

It is recommended that they wait until they are physically mature, but there is no set age limitations. Some might start at age 15, but not marry until age 23. It depends on the person, some people will never be mature enough, some are ready early on.

Note: Sex is not allowed until married.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that bible principles imply that recreational dating is unwise, and so they only date when marriage is a possibility.

A Witness waiting for his divorce to finalize would not date. Similarly, when the government's minimum marriage age is 18, a Witness who lives there would generally wait until he was 18 to date. Of course, some jurisdictions provide for marriage by a 16 or 17 year old if the parents approve, and so in those jurisdictions a 16 or 17 year old Witness might date with the permission of his or her parents.
