This morning she had a lump on her throat, a soft one that felt full of liquid. I carried her by the vet and she said it was probably an allergy so she gave my dog some shots. Penincillin shots to be exact. Now my dog's face is totally swollen! So swollen her eyes can t open fully, i am very worried. I called the vet and she said it was prob a reaction to the penincilin, i hope she doesnt die! What do u all think??

I am pretty sure her face got swollen because of an allergic reaction to the penincillin. The swelling should go away in a few days.

For the lump: I think you should go to another vet to ask for an opinion on what it is. Not all vets know the same stuff as another vet

If your dog has swollen up that much you need to get the dog to the vet. It is probably a reaction but it needs to be addressed by the vet.
I think you should look for another vet because allergies are not treated with antibiotics.

You need another Vet but for now, give the dog some Benadryl. She sounds like she is reacting to the penicillin. You may want to call another Vet and just explain what is happening to see if they feel the dog needs to be seen today.

If the Vet felt it was an allergy, why did she treat the dog with an antibiotic???

my dog has something that was a lump in his throat. It didn't really feel too much like liquid, but it was a little soft. It turned out that his siliva glands enlarged and clogged, and that lump was just the built up silivia. The vet simply took a needle and took it out, and he was fine.
If the vet thinks it's a reaction to the penicillin, I'd ask for advice on how to treat it. It could be life threatening depending on how bad the reaction it.

Hope your dog get's better

I was thinking the same thing...that it was an allergic reaction to the meds. I would definitely take your dog back to the vet, and if the vet you called didn't recommend that, I would find a different vet! Your dog needs to be taken care of ASAP.

Sounds fishy. The vet would not give Penn for an allergy....it is an antibiotic.

See another vet ASAP!!
