Aptitude to fly aircraft does not depend on what one studies. Some pilots I know who are engineers are lousy pilots, while others who were humanities majors do a great job flying.

But starting in high school, as others have said, concentrate on math. A working knowledge of algebra and geometry are almost essential. Taking physics can help with understanding the forces affecting an aircraft in flight.

Mostly, though, becoming a pilot involves determination. You really should want to become a pilot. If your goal is to fly, than you will find out how to learn what you need to know with some perseverance and determination. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it.

Good luck.

Take anything you can relating to math; becoming a pillot is loaded with figuring a lot of calculations, reading charts, etc. Also, you realize that you must start withe the small ones and work your way up! Each size/type plane teaches you certain aspects of flying and then you must put in a specified number of hours to qualifiy for each level of licensing. Takes a while and some bucks, but worth the effort if your heart is there. Good luck!

I took private pilots lessons. I think the most important (for preparation) is math.

The rest you should catch easily if you are just good at math.

Good Luck

to start with, geography, math and physics. Also you'll have to take gym. For most airlines pilots must be in great physical condition. A minor in psychology might help for those loud and unruly passengers.

Before you do anything put the horse before the carridge. You need to have perfect vision with no flaws whatsoever. See an optometrist first, then decide other things which will all be useless if your eye sight is anything but perfect.

the only factors your high school grades will determine in becoming a commercial pilot is what college you get into.
