what does that mean? do you get points for it? I have saw people asking for them, and couldnt figure out why.

oh you mean stars sweetie ?
no there are no points for stars
it is just a little bonus for a good question
some people star , so that their contacts may see it easily

kind of like getting a sticker in your school jotter

You don't get any points for starring. Neither does the asker. It's just gratitude for an interesting question. It's kinda like saying, "Hey, good question!"

Yes, you get -5 points for asking. 2 pts for answering and 10 pts for the best answer (thats why they say "pick me").
