Usually when puppies are about two years old, they are not puppies anymore.

It depends entirely on the breed and its mental capacity. I have an eight year old white golden retriever, with the mental age of an eight week old and the IQ of a plank.
If you get them too mentally attached to you, they become obsessed and pine for you when your not there and so when you come home they cry and seek your attention 24/7. Unless a puppy is disciplined as a wolf would be in the wild, they grow up without boundaries and so act as a puppy, but with all their mature instincts and desires intact. By dicipline, I don't mean physical dicipline, I mean using strategic handling to determine boundaries through the eyes of the dog.
My dog Millie is huge and gets away with a hell of a lot, but shes not allowed upstairs and knows it, or in the living room or diningroom and accepts it. Shes fed twice a day and has to sit and wait before she gets her food and even then only when I say so. She can and has been known to sit staring at her bowl for an hour before I gave the command.
Anyway I digress, Large breed dogs tend to live shorter lives than smaller breeds and so many would consider them adult at a year to eighteen months but its the opposite, a large breed matures slower than a small breed and hence the reason larger dogs tend to be more playful into middle age than smaller dogs who develop a tendency to mature faster and have less joys of life

At 2 years old is when a puppy becomes a dog. My puppy just turned 1 on October 3rd. I love him to death. He is a shih tzu. His name is Putter because my whole family plays golf and he is sooooo playful. He gives me puppy dog eyes a lot though and it makes me sad but i LOVE him SO much!!!!

It really just depends on the dog and your definition of a "puppy."

Depends on the breed. Sooner for little dogs, later for big dogs.
I have giant breed dogs and they are considered puppies until they are two.
