Do you think that Science books in School have great influence on children about evolution and what they believe?

Does believing in evolution means you don't believe God Exist?

Of course school books influence people on the belief in evolution. Science (with science books) is taught in schools, not religion. Religion should be reserved for Sunday School or its equivalent. (You wouldn't want your kids being taught about some religion other than your OWN, would you?)

And MOST of the people who accept evolution also believe God exists. The belief in God and the belief in evolution have very little to do with one another, contrary to the sayings of Pat Robertson, etc.

Of course! If you teach a kid something as fact then they will usually take it without question. Evolution does have a place in science books as THEORY, yet unproved. But I believe that they should put forth Intelligent Design as another THEORY.

In answer to your second question, I know several people who believe in evolution and still believe in God. They believe that God created evolution. Personally, I don't think so, it just doesn't seem logical.

Everything in a child's life will influence what they believe, but people will have the most influence.

A book can only present information, and a child will interpret it in the way they've been taught to interpret written things. If a child is taught to view everything that is written with skepticism, then books will simply be collections of baseless claims. If they are taught to critically evaluate what they read, then books become tools and sources of information. If a child is taught that books contain indisputable facts, then they could potentially believe everything they ever read, which could be tragic.

Believing in evolution precludes belief in Christian Creationism, so that would make it hard to believe in the Christian god.

I can't speak for other gods.

Yes, because they teach evolution as a fact- not a theory. They should be honest, explain why some scientists believe in it, but without giving the impression that if you don't believe with them, then you're a moron!
Believing in evolution does not necessarily mean that you don't believe in God- it means you believe wrong things about him, probably due to misinformation.
The foremost proponents of the evolution theory hang onto it because it means they are not accountable to anyone for anything. Boy, are they fooling themselves!!!!

For some people it does but not for everyone. My parents are christian and believe in evolution.

Actually I don't think science books in school have a great impact because a good number of teachers do not know how to teach evolution correctly and a good number of people find out about it later on through their own research.

Science books don't have nearly as much influence as one could wish, but that's mostly because science (like every other subject) isn't taught well.

Students do more mis-learning, than genuine learning, more's the pity.

Many people both accept evolution and believe in God. Most believers in God accept evolution as true -- even though they don't understand it very accurately.

All evolution really means is things tend to change in the biological world. I hope that children learn this because it's true. No, believing in evolution just means you believe biological organisms change....for the better or for the worse. The fittest do tend to do better in life, too, as a general rule.

Evolution still remains to be a "Theory" only. No one has scientifically proved it. Ever since human being is existing the presence of God is being acknowledged by humans. May be the name of the religion varies. Only in recent centuries evolution is being propagated by few which is very clearly against the modern science.

It depends on the way parent have taught their kids to think. If the children have been raised to be conformists to everything they read then yes, I personally had my mom drill into my head that everything you read isn't fact especially what you learn in school. Question Everything.

I go to a strong religious university and I believe that evolution is a fact and it happens. I don't think we come from monkeys though. I do think that God created evolution though, its a form of adaptation.

Ok first off evolution is not a believe, do you believe that you have hands? Or do you? People either accept evolution or they don't. You can still believe in a God and accept evolution, many scientists do that because it is hard to just give up your faith. Anyone who Deny's evolution is ignorant and they have been brainwashed by creationist propaganda.
