Ok, not much discussion so far.
NPR: a public radio network that is substantially funded by the US government and who made a self-proclamation that "If that is today's idea of liberalism, then perhaps NPR fits it."

FOX News: TV network wholely funded by Private Corporation. Presents each news cast with a view from the Conservitives and a view from the Liberals. They then discuss.

Questions:
1. Can a government funded program not present both sides of an issue, by a legitimate reprentative of that view?

2. Is NPR in fact bias? If not, examples?

3. In what way is Fox and NPR alike?

Bad M: Please read your answer and compare it to the question.

A few or your mistakes:
1. Rush is not on Fox.
2. A commentator does not depate by definition.
3. Tax funded programs do not go away if you just ignore them [i.e. turn the channel]

Bad M: Please give examples of the NPR providing equal coverage of both sides of an issue using legitimate participants that beleive in the side they are defending.

I know staying on an argument is hard for some [see my question on logic and liberals], but trying to win an argument/de'b'ate by pointing out typos or changing the argument from: why a Tax funded program that is bias is not the same as a privately funded free market program that is bais; into a a passionate rant about why no one worries about other "tax" concerns is not LOGICAL or productive.

The Question is: Who thinks that NPR is the liberal equal to FOX News and WHY?

If you do not understand the question please ask. If you want to rant about the words "NPR", "FOX" or "Liberal" please at least look for a questions that matches your answer and not just a one or two words.

None of the Shows that BadM has listed are NPR programs. Unkown what his list stands for. Maybe to help I had asked "Please provide examples of an NPR show that has a legitimate Conservative Host that believes in the side he is representing and not merely some person that is presenting the conservative view to then be torn down by other hosts and guest without rebuttle.

I don't. Fox news always has a balanced debate on the issues, with both left and right represented. NPR is blatantly leftist, and far left of even NBC News. Further, their very existence is a left wing promotion of socialist ideals. In a free market, public radio and television has NO business using tax dollars to promote a political agenda.

NPR (and PBS) are inherently unfair and should be eliminated. With the literally hundreds of radio and television outlets available, there is no justification for public funds to support political broadcasting.

You Fox supporters are so funny!

I am a true conservative ie fiscal conservative. None of this (false) social conservatism for me!
I have no problem with the small percentage of government funding for PBS / NPR. Both have conservative & liberal shows & commentators. NPR has REAL debate - none of this Bill O'Reilly or Rush crap... boy those guys are rude, uncivil individuals . Unfortunately many Americans view those two as conservative commentators when in fact they are only blowhard entertainers & these two successfully give true conservatives a bad name.

Fox Broadcasting is a great entertainment network. I can't miss my Simpson's or Family Guy! But to say Fox is a credible news outlet, much less a balanced one, is ludicrous.

No Fox is not equal to NPR or PBS - but hey it's a big world out there & we are all free to change the station!

Edit: My misguided friend:
1. I never said Rush was on Fox. I just listed him as an example of what is wrong with America today & what is wrongfully considered conservative thought these days by people who can not think for themselves.
2. "depate" ???? 'nuff said.
3. Non-ending tax program worries? Where were you and the other quasi-conservatives for the last 100 years? You didn't say SQUAT about the federal excise tax placed on all phone bills. You know, the non-ending tax bill to fund the Spanish-American War over a hundred years ago. You fake conservatives (ie social conservatives or conservatives come lately) allowed the US government collect $300 billion from the US public over the years.
The amount going to PBS & NPR is peanuts compared to that.

Conservative programs on PBS, past & present - too many to list them all but here are a few:
William F Buckley - Firing Line
John McLaughlin - The McLaughlin Group
Peggy Noonan - On Values
Laura Ingraham - National Desk
William Bennet - Adventures from the Book of Virtues
Milton Friedman - Free to Choose
Wall St Journal
Adam Smith - Money Matters

etc etc etc

Edit: again my misguided friend, I clearly state the programs are/were on PBS not NPR.
Why would you compare a radio station (NPR) to a television station (Fox)? Not logical, not an apples to apples comparison.
Back to school for you!

NPR has a soft and slightly left leaning orientation toward social issues, however, it has the same mind-set as the other networks when it comes to national power politics.

When GWB won with the smallest of possible margins last election, every network including NPR said that George had a mandate. (A razor thin victory is not a mandate according to my dictionary.) NPR also ran a simulation of 9/11 building collapse that violates Newtonian physics to support the government theory. NPR also stays with the term "war on terror" despite the fact that the US illegally invaded Iraq and now "occupies" that country.

The conservative claim that the media has a liberal bias is just nonsense. All the major networks including NPR are towing the official news that is created by the government in Washington D.C. After all, it's not the job of the newsroom to create the news, that's the government's job.
