Early rock'n'roll (12 bars) are a good starting point. Johnny B Goode by Chuck Berry. Elvis' Hound Dog or Blue Suede Shoes. I Saw Her Standing There or Roll Over Beethoven by the Beatles. Status Quo's Rocking All Over the World. Hope this helps.

I started out playing early Silverchair, learnt most songs from Frogstomp and Freak Show, most songs on those albums arent hard to play, but they're good just to get some experience under your belt and gives you something to rock out to :)
