Following my question the other day, I asked: "Why do Christians feel that they are so sure that they are getting into Heaven?" and the recurring answer I kept getting was: "You only have to believe in God and Jesus to be accepted into Heaven"

Hang on....... Does that mean that Adolf Hitler is in Heaven? He was a Christian. What about all these serial killers that have believed in god? Are they there too? The KKK was a Christian organization, have all the former Klan members gone to Heaven?

If that is what Heaven is like, it doesn't sound like a very nice place.

If heaven actually existed then you are correct, those people would be there and the likes of Gandhi would be in hell.
Strange rules for entry into the club.

Just saying you're a Christian does not make you one. Nor does 'attending a church' make you a Christian. There are many that believe there's a God, but want nothing to do with God! It's difficult not to believe there's a God, God has given us plenty to believe He exists! And just because an organization 'claims' to be Christian - does not make it Christian. To be a Christian - is a heart 'thing'. It's believing that Jesus is the Son of God, and that He died for our sins (believing you are a sinner and need salvation), that He rose on the third day, and now sits at the right hand of the Father. When you ask Jesus into your heart, you are sealed with the Holy Spirit of Christ, and Jesus says, "Wherever I am, you will be also." That's Heaven!! being in the presence of God forever!

They may or may not be in heaven...it depends on if they repented before they died...You never know what was going on in a person's mind the moments before death. Adolf Hitler!! Come on!! He was not a Christian!! He Killed Jews! God's chosen people!! Why in the world would you think he was a Christian. We still have to try to follow the commands God Made in the time of Moses! We WANT to be like Christ! Heaven is going to be wonderful! KKK is not a Christian organization!! I don't know how they are now but they killed black people, It is a CULT! Just because people CLAIM to be christians, doesn't mean they are!

I don't believe that "You only have to believe in God and Jesus to be accepted into Heaven". Some people promote a very attractive idea: All true Christians, regardless of how they live, have an absolute assurance of salvation, once they accept Jesus into their hearts as "their personal Lord and Savior." The problem is that this belief is contrary to the Bible & constant Christian teaching.

As far as what heaven is like:

CCC 1024 - This perfect life with the Most Holy Trinity—this communion of life and love with the Trinity, with the Virgin Mary, the angels and all the blessed—is called "heaven." Heaven is the ultimate end and fulfillment of the deepest human longings, the state of supreme, definitive happiness.

CCC 1025 - To live in heaven is "to be with Christ." The elect live "in Christ," but they retain, or rather find, their true identity, their own name.

So yeah, if heaven does exist and is full of people like Hitler, the KKK and serial killers as well as other evil people just because they believe in god and are christians.....then I think I would rather burn in hell.....I'm hoping that's where all the strippers and prostitutes go.

it sure doesn't huh? for all u care, heaven mite even be non-existant. but if u really believe in it, u shudn't worry--wat i think on this matter is that Christ isn't all there is to heaven, b/c then that'd mean that heaven is only for Christians. that means that even after death, humans will be divided according to race. well, god doesn't care wat u are, so i m preety sure that to be in heaven, it's all based on teh kind of person, human being u r, rather than how devotingly u follow ur religion!( idk if devotingly is a word but i cudn't think of anything else.)

We dont know who is in heaven
and anyone who tells you otherwise is totally wrong
we as humans can not know what is other people's hearts and we can never know how god judges us.
Just because someone professed to be a Christian, if his actions proved otherwise then he/she was NOT as they say.
God said judge not lest ye be judged.
It is up to Him and we should stay out of the judgement business.

I am so tired of hearing that lie reiterated. Hitler was NOT a Christian! Hitler was an atheist who was greatly influenced by Darwin and Marx. Hitler was an evolutionist who was simply taking evolution to its "next level". He was of the same philosophy of Lenin, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao Tse Tung and every other fascist dictator this world has seen in the last century. Getting your picture taken in front of a Catholic Church does NOT make you a Christian. Jesus said, "You will know them by their fruits". Hitler had bad "fruits".

uhm...just because those people claim they are christians, it doesn't necessarily mean they are going to heaven. even if it is real. just by judging the people that may be going to heaven you can't assume that heaven isn't a nice place..

it is all approximately delight. Angels, like us, have unfastened will, and a few of them did not sense like God knew superb anymore. delight is the essence of sin; questioning all of us comprehend extra clever than God, and while the angels rebelled against God is replaced right into a doozy. God isn't approximately controlling people, yet giving them a decision (angels too), and those angels chosen to teach on God because of the fact they concept they knew extra clever than He did... yet then look the place it have been given them ;)
