Another dog question... I usually go outside with my dog when she has to do her business because lately the male dog behind us has been destroying our fence so our dog can get through and 'hump' her. This one time, however, I didn't go outside with her because I was trying to put my daughters down for naps. When I went back down 10 minutes later the neighbors dog was in our back yard! I tried to call my dog in but she wouldn't come, she just sat there staring at me. When I opened the door all the way, to grab her collar, the male dog growled at me. So I closed the door. (He's a huge germand shepard, I'm not messin with that!). My dog was drenched and reeked of pee! Would that male dog have peed on her to mark her has his territory?

By the way, I called the dog catcher to come and get the male. I'm not letting the male get away with keeping me from my own dog and back yard!

Once, when i was at the dog park, a woman was there with her 2 dogs. One looked like a doxie mix and the other looked like a shepherd mix. The shepherd mix peed on the doxie mix and the owner said that he did that every time they went there to show the other dogs that that was his property. So, yes he peed on her to show the other dogs that she was his.

I have 6 males and 1 female and the female does get peed on by the boys but mainly because they are marking her pee while she is going and get her too. But I have been marked by 3 males and that was to show I was their territory so a dog def could mark another dog to tell other dogs, this one is mine.

Male dogs pee on anything vertical, which includes bushes, cars, fence poles, other dogs and children.

A face full of high powered jet water from the hose will stop any dog. Gotta get him in the face though, but I'd call the animal control about him anyway--no dog should growl at you on your own property.

Some female dogs lift a leg to pee. Some males squat. Some do one thing one time and something else the next. It is all normal.

NO male dogs don't do that , they only mark their property on land not on other dogs.
