My favorite is the pamphlet by Dr. Haegler that tried to be scientific about why we should all go to church on Sunday and refrain from work and fun. He said that during a day's work a laborer expends more oxygen than he can inhale and that we need a day like Sunday to catch up...what better way to do that than spend it in church?

I don't think that the Lord's Day Alliance is still around. It was a movement in the 1920's and 30's...maybe later. They wanted to instate the death penalty for those that do work or do leisure activities on Sunday.

That is ridiculous.
So, not enough air during 6 days? I'm surprised we haven't all died from lack of oxygen.
That Dr Haegler is an idiot.
They could read a book...It would be a lot more interesting than a sermon.

Sorry, never heard of the Lord's Day Alliance.

I would be worried about that, since Sunday is the false, pagan sabbath, and enforcing Sunday law would interfere with the rights of Jews, Seventh-Day Adventists and other sabbath-keeping Christians.
