Perhaps you were not watching the same coverage as I was. There was indeed footage of the pentagon crash albeit just a few frames. The speed at which the plane flies at and the range of local security cameras meant that only 2-3 frames exist of the plane coming at the pentagon. I saw the frames and I am sure millions of other people did.

Equally to the point: where is the video that proves a plane did hit the Pentagon? Are we supposed to believe that none exist, when the Pentagon is, and was bristling with CCTV cameras. So the government does not want us to see this video, can anybody think of any reason why they would not want us to see this video? As you know there is no rational argument to support the official conspiracy theory, so its supporters have only one debating tactic -that is avoid the question, and bring into question the sanity of the questioner -the poor dears have only got this form of "debating tool", so you shouldn't feel too bad about them calling you a "nut case", or talking of tin foil hats, it is really just their cry for help.

Wrong answer -- they released a parking lot security video that showed the plane hitting the Pentagon.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4987716.stm
http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/05/16/pentagon.video/index.html

Nobody has reported any amateur video because darned near everyone was inside watching the coverage of the WTC disaster when the plane hit the Pentagon. But there are many eyewitness accounts of the aircraft that hit the building, plus there was plenty of wreckage (despite the BS all the conspiracy theory sites claim).
Check out this one for a more reasoned study of the evidence.

I've seen the frame by frame footage just like some others who answered your question. There is also some footage which is classified because that plane hit a part of the Pentagon that has some very sensitive areas. That's why a lot of those killed in the building had assignments in information technology and intelligence. I also attended the funeral of two people I knew who were on the plane. They weren't riding on top of some missile. Sorry, but it isn't an academic exercise to me. It's personal.

The only known footage shows a blurry image that is consistent with a plane traveling at 521 MPH. Most of the other cameras didn't capture anything because that's almost 3 football fields per second.
However, the lack of footage is unimportant since there is plenty of evidence it was a plane, as follows:
( 1) Dozens, if not hundreds, of people stuck on I-395 saw the low-flying plane & their testimony is well-documented in the press. Quoted from Wikipedia, “American Airlines Flight 77”:
... Steve Riskus witnessed the plane crash into the Pentagon, as he was driving along Washington Boulevard and stopped to take photographs moments after the impact.[21] Mary Lyman, who was on I-395, saw the airplane pass over at a "steep angle toward the ground and going fast" and then saw the cloud of smoke from the Pentagon.[22] Jim Sutherland, also on I-395, witnessed the plane pass 50 feet overhead, heading in a straight line into the Pentagon.[23] Mary Ann Owens, of Gannett News Service, was stuck in traffic near the Pentagon when she saw the airplane pass 50 to 75 feet overhead and crash into the Pentagon.[24] Another witness, Daryl Donley, saw the crash as he was driving on Washington Boulevard. Among debris that was scattered as the plane crashed, he found a "scorched green oxygen tank marked 'Cabin air. Airline use'" on the road.[24] Mr. Donley also had a camera with him, and took some of the first photographs after the crash.[25] USA Today reporter Mike Walter, while driving on Washington Boulevard, also witnessed the crash.[26] He recounted to CNN, "...looked out my window. I saw this plane, the jet, American Airlines jet coming. And I thought, this doesn't add up. It's really low. And I saw it. It just went — I mean, it was like a cruise missile with wings, it went right there and slammed right into the Pentagon. Huge explosion."[13]
(This is about half the witnesses, to save space)
================
2) Clear wreckage of a plane was found & photographs were printed in all the papers. Here's a nice photo from 9/11 that clearly shows plane wreckage:
http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/military_law/1227842.html?page=6#bigplane
(scroll down after clicking)
================
3)Yes, the hole in the Pentagon was somewhat smaller than the diameter of the plane. This is explained by Professor Mere Sozen, a “Kettelhut Distinguished Professor Civil Engineering” at Perdue University. Prof. Sozen says that it’s the energy of the plane, not its size that determines the size of the hole. The plane is not a cartoon character that punches out its outline. Moving at 531 MPH it more fluid than solid and this explains why you get the hole you got. (Prof. Sozen quoted from Pop Mech book)
=====
4) The competing theory, that American Airlines Flight 77 disappeared into thin air with all its passengers, is not too convincing.
========
5) The “American Society of Civil Engineers” & the “Structural Engineering Institute” (both are non-governmental) investigated the Pentagon crash. Their report is called "The Pentagon Performance Report" & it’s at:
http://www.fire.nist.gov/bfrlpubs/build03/PDF/b03017.pdf
The report contains color photos from the relevant Pentagon security camera which was going at 1 frame/sec. It shows a blurry shot of the plane.
The report contains numerous references to plane debris & body parts found in the Pentagon. For example, on page 26 it says:
“The remains of most of the passengers on the aircraft were found near the end of the travel of the aircraft debris. The front landing gear (a relatively solid and heavy object) and the flight data recorder (which had been located near the rear of the aircraft) were also found nearly 300 ft into the structure. By contrast, the remains of a few individuals (the hijacking suspects), who most likely were near the front of the aircraft, were found relatively close to the aircraft’s point of impact with the building."
The remains of most of the passengers were DNA matched to relatives..

There is only one camera owned by the government that faces that direction, the parking lot camera. If you watch the film from that camera, two things are readily apparent:
1. It is not filming at normal speed. It is a standard security camera that takes frame shots.
2. The camera looks directly across (90 degrees to) the flight path. A plane going over 500 MPH is not going to be a nice clean shot of a plane; it's going to be a blur.
The VA DOT cameras oddly enough are designed to look at the road. they are not designed to watch for airplanes.
The US government can not release the video from the gas station; it's not theirs.

Been there, did work there, have the badges to prove it, got the T-shirt.

Will some say it wasn't a plane but a missile. there is no evidence of a plane hit the pentagon. they couldn't even find one piece of the plane. explain that one. I think it was a missile is why there is no video of it. It show we attacked our own building. will the government did not us.

The gov. can release the gas station video, those types of videos are used in court all of the time.
