I just had my 6 month old siamese kitten spayed and vaccinated this past Saturday. Initially when I brought her home from the vet she was frightened and hid underneath my bed. She came about out an hour later. The rest of the weekend she seemed to be in considerable discomfort (but I was told not to giver her Tylenol or aspirin by the vet). In addition, she's not eating AT ALL, my own mom had to force feed her. I'm extremely worried because I dont want her to get sick or be in any more discomfort. I'm thinking about buying her some kitten milk (from Petco) and keep force feeding her so that she can heal properly and not get weak. I dont want her to starve to death. Please HELP!

first of all NEVER give a dog or cat tylenol or advil!!! PLEASE call your veterinarian NOW. she doesn't need her mother's milk anymore if in fact she is 6 months old - she is getting her imunbizations now from her vaccines , which will be a series of 3-4 every 3-4 weeks - don't forget!! if she is not drinking either, watch for dehydration and lethargy. if she was just spayed a day ago the anesthesia may make her not want to eat yet - again contact your vet

Call your vet immediatly.

It usually takes a kitten about a day to at least start eating. She might be unhappy, and whatever your vet says, I'd suggest any kitten product. (Kitten milk (mix with dry food), kitten treats, just anything that she will eat)

Good luck, but CALL YOUR VET.

And don't EVER give a cat or a dog Aspirin of any kind. The vet will prescribe a "animal" dose, if needed.

Make sure she's drinking. Offer her baked chicken if you have it (take the skin off if it's been breaded and deep fried). That usually entices cats. In a pinch those little jars of beef, ham or turkey baby food will get most any cat eating again.

But you need to update your vet on her condition--she should be eating by now. Sunday she probably was still getting rid of the after effects of the anesthesia, it takes a good 24 hours to do that usually. Today being Monday you should see improvement.

You need to call your vet in the morning, because it's not normal for her to not be eating.I do hope that no one gave the cat Tylenol, because it's deadly poison to cats.If you,or someone else did give her some, then you need to call the vet NOW,so they can begin treatment to save the cat's life.If you didn't give it to her,the she could be developing a post -operative infection.either way,she needs to see the vet.
