Hi!
I looked for over 8 years for a product against blackheads.
Clarins has an awesome line, for night time you need the toner and oil, its a special oil that dissolves blackheads (for real) and cleans your face overnight of impurities. Black heads are basically a hardened oil mixture that was secreted and oxidized (which makes the outside part black) and since water and oil don't mix no water based product can "clean" your blackheads away, just try say putting certain foundations or makeups on the mirror and if you wipe it with water it smudges all over but put a little baby oil and wipe and tada! it comes off super clean AND dissolves it. This oil also dries up the pimples and the black heads all the way down. I recommend using it for 6-8 weeks then going for a facial (cost maybe 25$) and ask for a facial specializing in black head removal or you can look it up online, how to steam first and all and yes using a tissue paper not your fingernails really is better, I know cause now I have little brown spots and acne scars from years of picking with nails, tissue forms a little barrier so that the sharp edge of your nails doesn't cut the thin outer cell layer.

You can find it cheaper on eBay as it is a bit pricey in stores. Here is the name: Oil: CLARINS Lotus Face Treatment Oil Combo SKIN 1.4oz/40ml will last forever , you put toner on your face first, when your face is still moist you put 4 drops of oil (one on each finger, you only need a teeny bit) then rub your finger tips together on other hand and after a few secs of rubbing use your finger tips to dab it on top of your moist skin... just be careful not to put more than 4-6 small drops of oil and that your face is wet from toner and to dab it over not rub. Toner: NEW Clarins Toning Lotion with Iris OILY Skin Toner 200mL.

The body shop also has an awesome mattifying moisturizing tea oil face gel.

Also only use non-comedogenic products (These products are less likely to cause blackheads (open comedones) or whiteheads (closed comedones)), it will be normally written in small on the label if they are non-comedogenic.

Take care, Felisia

There are several ways to get rid of blackheads. Choose the method that you have the time & patience for because persistence is key.

1) Use Neutrogena Clear Pore Wash/Mask. It has clay and benzoyl peroxide to absorb excess oil, clear away old skin cells and kill bacteria. It works best as a mask - just apply where needed once or twice a week.

2) After washing your face, apply a warm compress & use a blackhead remover to gently ease it out. You must be gentle & follow the directions below carefully to avoid getting red marks & stretching out your pores.

3) After washing your face at night, dampen a cotton pad w/ hydrogen peroxide & swipe it over your nose. Hydrogen peroxide will bleach the blackheads & kill the bacteria that cause them.

If you have sensitive skin, leave the hydrogen peroxide on for 5 minutes & rinse it off.

4) Aspirin mask: Crush 4 - 6 plain, uncoated aspirin tablets and mix it w/ a little water to make mask. Or mix them with Queen Helene Mint Julep mask or aloe vera gel instead of water. Apply a thin layer where needed & let dry for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off w/ cool water.

5) Biore pore strips or DIY. Here's how:

I'm sure you'll get lots of advice about products - here's my advice about cleansing:

Cleanse your face 2-3 times a day with clean fingers. [1] [2] [3]

1. Gently pat your face dry with a very clean soft towel that is not used for any other purpose. Do not share towels with others, or dry your face with a towel you use for anything else (drying your hands or body). Change your face towel often. [4]

2. Massage/exfoliate at least once a day for thirty seconds, while cleansing. [5]

3. Avoid touching your face whenever possible. [6]

4. Wash your face after exercise and do not go to bed with sunscreen or makeup on your face.

5. Regularly wash/disinfect any objects that come into contact with your face, such as phone mouthpieces and eyeglasses. Be careful with disinfecting metal though; some preparations (hydrogen peroxide, alcohol) can cause metals to tarnish.

The whole regime (including a FAQ and details) is at the link below. And I also included a link to my recent blog post outlining my personal cleansing regime.

You gotta pop em. Then 2 thighten the pore wash ur face in hot water ever time u wash ur face. U can use a hot rag 2 put on ur face 2. Try not 2 go 2 deep cuz that black head might turn into a pimple. If a pimple does come up. Crush an asprin mix w/ a lil water, make a paste n put on ur face. Leave on all nite. That will dry out the pimple.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

The secret is never to touch the spots

Cleanse your face with unboiled milk, gently rub a coarse cloth dipped in milk to remove the blackheads. Steam your face with herbs like lavender, lemon peel and mint leaves added to the water and let the skin soak up its goodness. You definitely need to use a masque to pull everything out. I would recommend the masque by Arbonne International. Arbonne is a fabulous company.
