If you like red/auburn hair color, I'd recommend you go with an all-natural product made from henna. I use Light Mountain Natural hair color, which is made from henna, indigo, and cassia plants. Depending on your base color, you can get several different shades of red/brown/auburn/burgundy with that line of products. Henna products will color light hair anywhere from strawberry blonde to fire engine red to mahogany or burgundy. With dark hair like mine, you're limited to darker shades like chestnut, mahogany, black, and burgundy. I can't use a natural product to lighten my hair - that requires bleach.

One cautionary note: this is not a hair colorant for those in a hurry or those afraid to play in the mud. The product you buy is a pouch of powdered leaves from the three plants I mentioned. You mix it up with water to make a paste and squoosh it all through your hair. You then cover the whole mess with a plastic bag(s) and leave it in for a long time. I leave it for 6 hours - this is not a speedy operation. However, it gives me great dark auburn color using ZERO chemicals that lasts about 6 weeks. I'm noticing also that the more times I use it, the better it retains its red tones. It has a conditioning and strengthening effect on your hair, as well.

You may want to try Hennalucent, it's a organic conditioning hair color, it's not a tint or dye or bleach, and the best thing about it is it does not contain harsh chemicals like peroxide or metallic salts. It works permed hair, frosted ,and bleached, straighted or relaxed hair. It helps repair split ends and strengthen dry damaged, chemically treated hair. Hennalucent is available in 5 translucent shades plus neutral to intensify and enhance your own natural color. There is no harsh re-growth, the color fades naturally in 6-8 weeks
