It's only happened a handful of times, but every once in a while (3 times today) the car wont start on the first try.. It just makes a "click" noise and then nothing. I take the key out and try again and then it starts up fine. I'm absolutely no handy man when it comes to cars, So I'm not even sure where to start looking. And the battery is housed under the Air filter box (wtf?) so I can't really get to it. Thanks for any help yall can give!

It sure sounds like you have a battery cable connection problem. Either you or your mechanic need to check the battery cables and possible look at the wires that connect or bolt onto the starter itself. It could be a bad starter but I would check all the connections first.

It's the starter. The contact points inside the solenoid are burned down. This is typical of this type starter used by almost all Chrysled cars and trucks. I have repaired probably a truck load of them. It can be repaired if you can find an auto electric repair shop They will replace the contacts for a fraction of what a new starter will cost. If you can't find one, the only other option will be to replace the starter. Go remanufactured if you do. they are a lot cheaper. A new starter is around 400 bucks!

most likely your starter i have the same problem but to make sure turn your your lights on to see if they are dim/ bright inside and out if so it"s your battery if not the starter needs replace. you can replace it yourself which is cheaper or have someone else do it cost more. autozone, or O'riley has them cheap. to learn how to change your starter go on youtube type in your year, model and make of car then type how to change starter its a video step by step with an mechanic showing you. i did mines myself very simple it runs like new. good luck

Check the wire on the starter for tightness while your there wiggle it to see if its loos where it is mounted to the solenoid. Be sure the battery cables are clean and tight as well. Good Luck and God Bless

Get it toed to a shop. Thats the only real way you'll figure it out. Usually if the place is fixing it, then they'll toe for free. I need to see the car first hand to decide whats wrong with the engine.

There may be a "dead spot" in your starter. Try replacing it. If that doesn't fix the problem than you should call the dealership and ask their mechanic what it could be. I think it's the starter tho.

Probably a battery cable connection is loose or it might be your starter or it could be your ignition switch.
