My friend said this as a joke and i don't really get it, could someone explain? yeah I know I'm stupid

could it be the joke is at your expense. maybe he/she is saying you're a little conceited but are too self centred to catch on

Huh? No you're not stupid. I've got a 4.0 average in college and I don't get the joke at all. Is it possible that your friend botched the joke?

Now that I think about, madhavan n might be right. I think it means that if you ask someone how they are in Britain, they'll say they're "okay." But if you ask them in any other country, they'll say something else (all right, good, fine, etc.). But it's not really funny when explained that way. Perhaps there's another explanation?
