Well, everyone saw the expertise and strategic thinking of Jeff Gordon...
Who couldn't deny he wouldn't have won that race?
And now who will deny he will not win the championship?
He's great...
He deserves it
Everyone saw him hanging out in the back all day
I was angry at him doing that but in the end I knew his strategy
It worked out, too
So what are you comments?

Wow, ive followed the sport since gordon won his 3rd in 1998 and have been a gordon fan ever since. i have to say that im very proud to here people support jeff and finaly notice his accomplishments. I can say for a fact that i had never heard fans chearing for Jeff at Taladega but this weekend when he won you could hear the fans over the cars and im so happy he is starting to gain respect.

Jeff Gordon is by far one of if not the best driver out there this year. between 2001 and 2006 he hasnt really had much luck but i think now that he has a wife and a child he is more driven to win more than ever and he is having his best season since 2001. not quite the 13 wins of 1998 but he has been consistant week in and week out in both the car of tomorow and in the old car.

I believe that if Jeff is going to win the championship he is going to have to prove it this saturday at Charlotte. This used to be his track with 4 point race wins and a couple all star race wins but as of late, he has not been posting very good finishes. Id say that 500 miles at charlotte is still a lot and cars are going to be crashing out so if jeff starts out front, he should stay there but if not he needs to work on his car and stay out of trouble and try to come home with a top 10. a top 10 will keep him close to the front and with martinsville the week after, he can get the points lead back then if he looses it. Im liking jeff's chances of winning this championship and after the season that he is having id say hes the most deserving one to win it.

Gordon is a great driver no doubt, but I am still sticking with Bowyer for the upset of the decade.
Although Gordon coming from the back to win was fantastic, I do remember other drivers doing the same, yes it takes skill to do it without wrecking, because he waited until the worst part of the race, when everyone is jockying around back and forth, it was a great finish, and he has had a great season, but I think this year is going to be the year, where people look at the chase, particullarly NASCAR, and say, how could we rob Jeff Gordon of a championship? The chase has allowed Bowyer to sit in a position, he really did not earn until New Hamshire, yes he was consistant, but Gordon was dominating, and all but had the championship locked up if there was not a chase, and I think Bowyer coming from the back, is not only possible, being 61 points out now, but certain, and will probably cause NASCAR to second guess it's chase decision, which most of us as fans are not in favor of anyways.

Definitely Jeff Gordon is a force to be wrecken with especially during the Chase. Him and Jimmie Johnson are very strong competitors. I dont see them losing their fire and or flame anytime soon, and both are going to be battling for the end for the championship. It will come down to the last lap of Homestead, and then we will know the champion. I strongly believe that he is capable of winning the championship, and not only because I am a Jeff Gordon fan do I believe that. He is an amazing driver with amazing talent, and ability, and I dont see his luck running out anytime soon. He is definitely going to stay on top of the standings just like he has for most of the regular season.
I think that the strategy could have deeply failed him and his teammates but I think that luck played a major role. Especially the way he drover after receiving that drive thru penality on pit road. That was definitely not an easy task to come back from at Talladega, and if you lose the draft you are definitely going to be a loner. I think that alot of luck and talent decided the winner of this race, and just look who came out on top.

No one can deny Jeff Gordon is a good driver and always has a shot at the championship. This isn't the 1st time he's come from the back to win. Although he's not a driver I pull for, I do respect his talent. Of course, being a Bowyer fan I'm still hoping he'll win the championship.

I think his chances of getting the championship are very good. The only problem I see is Charlotte this weekend hasnt finished well there in 3 years. He has had 4 wrecks and 1 blown engine in his last 5 races there--It is time his luck changes for the better at Lowes. After that he has good tracks which favor him!!!! He is a great driver with plenty of skill, guts and now patience. I hope he gets #5 he was already screwed out of it once before.

He has a good chance, but he may lose because of the 10 race chase. If not for the chase format, he would be ahead by over 400 points. The chase already cost him championship
#5 in 2004. Let's hope it doesn't happen again.

I think he is a great driver too! I hope Dale Jr. has some of the same luck next season with the Hendrick team. Jeff looks so happy these days. Maybe being married and being a father agrees with him.

His chances? Extremely good...unfortunately.

Joking. What do you expect? My favorite driver is going for that championship, too!

But seriously, Jeff Gordon is a talented racer. I've seen him pull off wins that I thought were completely impossible, and he can do it without taking out half the pack, so he's earned a lot of respect in my book for that.

Only Being ahead by 9 points is slim but I think Jeff's chances keep getting stronger and stronger as we wind down the season. Cant wait to see him WIN IT
