My cat has a little lump in her stomach. she just got it, i've never felt it before when i would pet her. she's been sweeter than usual. my "friend" told me it was because she knows shes going to die. great friend right? but my mom said it could be because shes about to go into heat and it could possibly go away.
whats wrong? =/

Thank you all for the information!
My cat has really thin, soft fur so I don't think her hair could be matted.
The lump is about the size of the top of your thumb where you bend it. it's kind of hard... when i pet her stomach she doesn't seem to be in pain at all. i don't see that she's breathing differently. she just seems like a regular cat in heat. but i will definately have her checked out!
thank you guys sooo much

xoxo

It could just be a pimple. Pets may regularly get the random pimple! My dog got 1 I thought it was tumor but it went away! Pets even sometimes just get "mystery bumps" that go away. If its still there in a few months or your cat gives off signs of illness just get a checkup by the vet! It can also be matted fur (fur all clumped together) my cat usually gets matted fur over scratches and cuts. Cats with long fur also always get matted fur. Move the fur around to feel it and if its not matted then take a at the bump by moving the fur till you get the the bump. If it doesn't look normal then get it checked soon...when you have time.Good Luck, I know how you feel I was so scared when my cat broke his hip! I have 2 cats and love them both! I feel your pain!

-GOOD LUCK!

P.S- Don't worry too much because when things happen to our pets we always think of the worst and over analyze things and scare our selves more when the problem can be very small! Pet owners always get over hyped and think for the worst! So relax keep an eye on the bump and if necessary visit the vet!

Yeah nice, friend, telling you BS like that, what the hell does she know? I think you should possibly take her to a vet, since it isn't possible to get a diagnosis over the internet, particularly on the limited info you've given. I mean, how big is the lump?!

Take the cat to a vet - for one thing, she needs to be spayed. Why isn't she spayed already anyway?! And cats do not get a lump in their stomach before they go into heat.

IS it a inside cat? How big is the bump? Could be as simple as a irritation or tumor. Is she having difficulty in breathing is what is the most common symptom for cats that have hernias. I would keep a eye on the size and be prepared to take her tot he vets if it continues to grow or does not go away in a few days.

this sounds like she's got a hernia and needs to be seen by a vet. have you checked it isn't a matt of fur as cats can get tangles. have you checked it isn't an external parasite lke a tick. she isn't going to die but really does need to be given a health check by a vet as it can be treated once you know what it is. cats don't get lumps when they go into heat the just meow alot. but again you really need to get her spayed before she comes into heat or if isn't fixed she could be pregnant.
