Depends on how bad the break is and what bone is affected. If its a big bone, higher up on the leg, then of course it'll take longer than a little bone lower down but kittens, as all youngsters, will heal pretty quickly, as long as they are allowed to rest a lot and not allowed to jump about as they'd normally do! Some pampering is in order then ha ha. Hope it all goes well.

firstly has the kitten been to the vet for a check and immobilsation of the the leg. it can take up to 8 weeks and then if it hasn't healed an op to plate it and then immobilastion again for another 6 weeks. intensive physio is needed afterwards to rebuild wasted muscle and the vet can advise on how to do this. hope kitty gets well soon

FOLLOW THE VETS DIRECTIONS TO THE LETTER. At the moment the plate & pin are all that holds the leg togher. you don't want to sress them & possibly break them or you'll have to start all over. Even flexing the mends can prevent healing by breaking the forming bone bridges between the bone ends. EVENTUALLY phiso will be called for but NOW confinement is probaly the order of the day.

Without it being set? It'll possibly snap again if it heals wrong, damaging nerves, tendon and muscle (EXTREMELY painful!). If it's been set, they take the cast off after at least a month.
