You realise that if the Ice Caps melt completely, we're going to have much more to worry about than oil reserves long before then.

After I read "Do you believe that global warming will result in more and cheaper oil for all?" I realized its importance but I cannot figure out the answer.
Initially, regulations and taxes on the use of oil and coal are inevitable, this will decrease consumption to the point that new oil discoveries will, once again, be greater than consumption which will bring down the price of oil. [Awareness this oil surplus will happen will, by itself, bring oil prices down before the surplus is evident.]
Cheaper oil will increase oil consumption and the potential Global Warming increase computers predict (When such a calculation can be made in a year or two.) "Maximum Global Temperature that will be reached, 50 and 100 years from now, if the world totally ends Carbon Emissions, now." That is: How hot will the world get due to the Carbon Dioxide, Methane and Water Vapor already in the Atmosphere assuming no more Global Warming Gases are added.
When the computed maximum is over 150 Deg. Fahrenheit, the penalties on Carbon Emissions will be far more severe, which will further lower Oil consumption and oil price which will make gasoline cheap in the few countries that refuse to end Carbon Emissions.
Then, the UN will consider severe trade sanctions on nations that do not limit Carbon Emissions.. War is off the table, since it is totally counter-productive. What will happen? I dunno. I hope somebody makes a guess and gives us the trends that lead to that..

If you think oil drilling on the floor of the Arctic Ocean will be easy or cheap, then you are dreaming. All the cheap and easy oil is taken. The pumps that used to be running in the shopping mall parking lots in Los Angeles have been removed. Those wells have been pumped dry. From now on oil will be in harder to reach places and cost more to get. Drilling rigs in the arctic ocean will he extremely expensive, even IF oil is found there, which it hasn't been yet.

A. The ice caps will NOT melt.
B. As long as there is a buck to be made, oil will always be expensive and continue to get more so.

global warming is a myth.
There is no scientific evidence for it. I dare you to research it!
It's a widely hyped "theory" that has NO scientific basis whatsover; it's completely unfounded. And no I'm not just being anti-science; I've research teh subject extensively.
