I'm looking for opinions on where I can find the best cake and/or cupcakes inside the Beltway? Cakelove is okay but overrated and Reeves closed.

Have you ever been to Sticky Fingers (www.stickyfingersbakery.com)? They're on Park Road just north of the Columbia Heights Metro station.

There's a brand new bakery that just opened in Vienna, VA (just outside the beltway, but you can handle it); Silva's Patisserie, 167 Glyndon St. SE, Vienna, VA 22180.

Harry Sarkees, owner and baker, was the pastry chef at the Kennedy Center before opening his own place. Everything is terrific. The shop was recently written up by the Washington Post.

Bread and Chocolate has the best desserts. Their best seller Fruit Barvarian cake is the best cake I've ever had. They make great chocalate cakes as well. I always get my cakes from B&C and always get great comments from my guests. You can also pick up an assortment of little individual sized desserts so your guests can select what appeals to them. They have many stores in the DC area.

cake love. cakes/cupcakes are consistently good across multiple locations. also good that there are several locations so one doesn't have to go too far out of the way to get to it.
