I feel love cannot just happen. That is infatuation. We meet any number of people in our lifetime, some very handsome, some very kind, some good and great. (I am not even including the bad kinds, cases for hatred.) But do we fall in love with all. NO. We admire some, adulate some, revere some. Till this point we have choice. We choose what pleases our heart. It has to be a perfect combination of all our desires. Then only things fall in place and CLICK. Once it happens you have no control over your feelings and emotions. You are like a puppet whose strings are pulled by your beloved...very dangerous territory! You are leaving yourself exposed to hurt and disappointments if things go awry.

in a manner of speaking...you do not choose the person. in a sense there are instances that you never thought you love a person that you've been talking for a long time...maybe that is what you mean when you dont choose the person. it always happen to me...when the person opens up to you and you do the same, there is intimacy. because both of you are showing what you have. and when you get too close, you will never realize that you are attracted or finally have fallen inlove with the person no matter how right and wrong the entire matter could be..

The times I was either in love or thought I was, it just happened, No control. I think if you choose the one you fall in love with, you are asking for trouble, love is suppose to happen with no warning, it means more that way.

Falling in love happens, but in a way, your mind and heart has "chosen" to fall for that person because of certain very attractive qualities you find amazing. Sometimes people don't know "why" they love a person, but sometimes people know if they look deeper. Ofcourse, at the same time, even if mr perfect (in terms of all perfect qualities lookswise and character wise) was in front of me I might not fall in love if there was a certain something absent. It is that certain something that i can't name.
But I totally believe that love is also a choice.
When you are with the person, you also make a choice to love and keep things alive.....sometimes, even when you don't feel like. That's where commitment is tested. Commitment is with the mind. Love is from the heart. Just my opinion! :)

you choose the person you date but not the person that you end up falling in love with. i went out with this guy for a while and after 2 or 3 months i was in love with him yet thinking back to when we met i thought that he was nice and everything yet i did not picture myself falling in love with him. sometimes you fall in love for the most unlikely people if you know what i mean.you can control how you feel and lie to yourself that you do not love him yet that will not do you any good. falling in love is something that you as a person cannot control because it happens and trying to interfere with how you feel well that is wrong. we as people are attracted to the person who is compatible,respectful and everything else we do not have and when you find that person you have the choice to or not to date the person...that does not affect whom you fall in love with and so forth but rather that love happens when the time is right. we have control over a certain amount of events in our life yet love is not one of them.

I know with the people I have literally fallen in love with, it did just happen for me with NO control on my part. I hated it, until I realized I was being pursued by the very person I wanted most, then I relaxed and the love was THERE on both sides...talk about Heaven On Earth....*sigh*....

I fall in love with a person who I feel I can connect with or when I love their personality. I have to get to know a person first before I can fall in love with someone. You can't fall in love randomly on someone you have no idea who they are.

I almost immediately know if a love is going to occur with someone I meet. I then make my move - LOL. So my answer is, I choose the person.
