if the wages of sin is death, and all i want to do when i die is stay dead, then why should i believe in jesus? let's say for a moment that there is a god, and he wants me to have everlasting life, and the only way to do so is by accepting jesus as my savior. however, i don't want to live forever. i only want to make the most of my human life. wouldn't it be wise for me to reject christ then whether i believe in him or not? let's say i'm right and there is no god. then i just die. let's say i'm wrong and i reject jesus. what happens? death. that sounds a lot like what i have coming to me if i'm right. so where's the danger? you can't say i'm going to hell to suffer for all eternity. that sort of punishment would still require me to have everlasting life. but i can't live forever unless i accept jesus as my savior, in which case i go to heaven, which i don't want. am i missing something here?

tebone, it doesn't matter. i'll be dead. i can't feel anything once i'm dead. you can do whatever you want to my dead body, soul, or spirit that you want. dead people don't feel pain...

it's all rubbish... don't tell me if i don't believe i'll have death and then try to equate death with eternal suffering. if that is what is meant in the bible then i'm sure they had words to describe it back then as just that. death means you're dead. nothing more, nothing less...

Sounds like you have the right idea. Just live your life as if God is imaginary.

What you are missing is that we all have souls that are in fact eternal. So no matter what you do there will be a part of you that continues to live forever. When you accept Jesus you gain entrance into the family of God and therefore can receive the inheritance he has waiting for you.

P.S. The wages of sin is death. This is speaking of spiritual death.

The Bible teaches the wages of sin is death. As Adam ate of the tree and inherited death so we all do sin and die.
This speaks ot the death of the flesh.
When God created man he created him in his own likeness with an eternal spirit.
Though everyone will die the death of flesh we will still have an eternal spirit,
Simply having an eternal spirit does not mean we inherit God's kingdom.
Those who are joined with sin are joined spiritually to their flesh.
These sinful creatures will be raised and judged according to their deeds.
We are eternal creations and some will inherit eternal life in heaven others will realize their mistakes and will suffer because of them.
The fact is you are more than flesh whether or not you realize it.

You're right, justcurious, your body feels no pain; it's dead, decaying flesh. Your soul does, so by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you can have everlasting life in heaven, or be thrown in the Lake of Fire with Satan, and burn, (and feel it) for all eternity. If you reject Jesus, the latter will result. We all have freewill, whatever you choose, my best to you, friend. My thoughts as a believer...

A person’s soul goes on for all eternity whether you want it to or not; however there are two places in eternity where the soul can be. With Christ in heaven or without Christ in hell, if a person accepts Christ as their Lord and Savior while still on this earth then they will spend eternity with Christ heaven, but if they do not accept Him, then they will spend eternity in hell with Satan and his demons. You don’t just lie in your grave and do nothing.

The wages of sin is death not eternal in hellfire like so many people teach. God's great plan for humanity is for them to develop God's very character so the can be born into the family of God as immortal god beings. This is some thing so wonderful that most don't grasp it. Every who has ever died who God has not called( most of humanity) will be resurected to physical life and given a change for salvation

If you do not want to go to heaven then you wont You will not spend eternity in a forever burning hell either. That is just a scare tactic to get people to follow a church it is a deception of the devil to distract them from the real truth it is not biblical that sinners and rejectors of Christ have eternal life in Hell. Eternal life is only given to the righteous follows of Christ

Your choices are an everlasting life with God or an everlasting life in the torment of hell. there is no "none of the above" option. It is "either / or".

Make good choices.

You might also want to learn some biblical Greek and Hebrew as well as some Aramaic and Arabic so as to stop basing your assumptions on translations of translations of translations, etc., etc., etc.

You will spend eternity with God or with Satan,no matter what you want,so God is the better place than being tormented
day and night for eternity.

The wages of sin is death.. eternal death... everlasting death... continual dying and decay... Is that what you want? You want to cease to exist. Unfortunately we dont have that option. Once you exists you will continue to exist, but you either have an existence of life or of death.
