Hell is in your mind...and, therefore, if you believe in it...it follows you wherever you go.
If you think about it logically...it's the only plausible truth. I mean we even acknowledge it all day long by saying things like, "This job is hell." "This marriage is hell." "I feel like hell."
Kind of funny when you realize that you create your own hell. But, even funnier when you realize that you can un-create it as well. It's as simple as having another thought.
Good Question!

Those who are evil will be “consigned to an awful view of their own guilt and abominations, which doth cause them to shrink from the presence of the Lord into a state of misery and endless torment.”
“A man is his own tormentor and his own condemner. … The torment of disappointment in the mind of man [or woman] is as exquisite as a lake burning with fire and brimstone.”
There are two hells.
1. A temporary one. (otherwise known as spirit prison)
One is the temporary condition of the wicked between death and the resurrection......
David is promised that his soul would not remain in hell (see Ps. 16:10; Acts 2:27, 31), and it was promised that others as well would be delivered from spirit prison (see Isa. 49:8–9; John 5:25). This, in fact, happened when Christ opened the doors of hell to missionary work among the dead. (See 1 Pet. 3:18–19; 1 Pet. 4:6; D&C 138:6–37.)
2. A permanent one.
The other is the never-ending state of the wicked for whom there is no mercy because they, “like unto the son of perdition” (John 17:12), have rejected the mercy of Christ and would sell him “for silver and for gold, and for that which moth doth corrupt.” These are they, called perdition and the sons of perdition, who come out “in open rebellion against God” and “listeth to obey the evil spirit, and becometh an enemy to all righteousness. …
“Therefore [their] final doom is to endure a never-ending torment.” ( 2 Pet. 3:7; Rev. 20:13–15)
This is the second hell, or “second death.

Try to think of Hell as a state of being rather than a physical place. Hell is having to live forever with the knowledge of what you could have inherited had you paid the price and accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ.

people only think hell is in the center of the earth because its full of hot lava and fire, like they think Heaven is in the sky because of the clouds. There is probably no way to get to Heaven or Hell by taking a space ship or digging to the center of the earth. Its not in this reality or something like that

Hell is always referred to in the Bible as being "down" to. So, it must be down somewhere.
Hell is where the unrighteous souls go until judgment, then they will be cast into the Lake of Fire. (all of Hell will be cast into the Lake of Fire.)
Jesus spoke about Hell.
He said "But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment, and whoever says to his brother 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says 'You fool!' shall be in danger of HELL FIRE." Mt 5:22
Isaiah speaks of satan entering Hell.
"Hell FROM BENEATH is excited about you, to meet you at your coming; it stirs up the dead for you, all the chief ones of the earth; it has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. They all shall speak and say to you: 'Have you also become as weak as we? Have you become like us? Your pomp is brought DOWN TO SHEOL, and the sound of your stringed instrument; the maggot is spread under you. And the worms cover you.'" Isaiah 14:9-11
Revelation also speaks of Hell, and burning torment:
The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then DEATH AND HADES WERE CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE. This is the second death. AND ANYONE NOT FOUND IN THE BOOK OF LIFE WAS CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE."
Rev. 20:13,14
Hell is a real place where the unrighteous will go to await judgement, then will be thrown into the Lake of Fire where they will burn in eternal torment forever and ever, yet never be consumed. If there was even a tiny doubt in your mind that maybe you're wrong about hell and it's existence, wouldn't you rather be safe than sorry? What if I'm right? Please think on this! Your eternal life depends on it!
I don't know about you, but this scares the "Hell" out of me! I choose Jesus. I choose Heaven. I choose eternal life, and joy in His presence!! To God be the Glory!

It is not a place, it is a state of mind. Many advanced schools of Buddhism believe that when you live an evil life the Karmic consequences are enough to put you in a psychological state of hell. This could be in your next life of, if you don't buy into that, in this life.
Either way, there is no "place" called hell.

Hell is not a place: It is in the spiritual realm, and like spirits, it does not occupy space. Hell is eternal seperation from God, just as heaven is eternal bliss in union with God.
The eternal nature of hell is stressed in the New Testament. For example, in Mark 9:47–48 Jesus warns us, "It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, where the worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched." And in Revelation 14:11, we read: "And the smoke of their torment goes up for ever and ever; and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name."
Hell is not just a theoretical possibility. Jesus warns us that real people go there. He says, "Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few" (Matt. 7:13–14).
The Catechism of the Catholic Church states: "The teaching of the Church affirms the existence of hell and its eternity. Immediately after death the souls of those who die in a state of mortal sin descend into hell, where they suffer the punishments of hell, ‘eternal fire.’ The chief punishment of hell is eternal separation from God, in whom alone man can possess the life and happiness for which he was created and for which he longs" (CCC 1035).

Without even reading what you think Hell is in your mind if you want it there.
Think of the worst things that could possibly happen to you, who's to say they might not happen one day.

It's so ridiculous, that's why it's hard to believe in such a thing as hell. Ergo demonstratum est. Hell is in your mind.
