I agree about going to a doctor to rule out physical causes. There are numerous recent studies that prove exercise is a significant factor in improving depression; the best improvements have come from 150-180 minutes a week of moderate to intense aerobic exercise. Good luck!!

Well there is technically no cure for depression but one should talk with their family physician to help rule out a physical cause such as a thyroid problem (not saying that you do, but may want to get some blood work done since it's better to be safe than sorry) or such. A licensed therapist can help one deal with depressed feelings and learn coping stategies to handle stress. Journaling may help as well. I like to use a spiral-bound notebook as it's easier to write in and go back to previous entries and see how I've grown or what goals I still would like to accomplish. Perhaps a support group can help as well, however, it's not a substitute for actual therapy. Hoping that you feel better real soon.

P.S. It's really some blood work to rule out physical illnesses such as the thyroid condition and then if every test result comes back "negative" ('normal'), then the person can start dealing with and treating the depression.
