I know this word can be found in the dictionary, but when you think of Charity, what does it mean to you?

Charity is the pure love of Christ. It is the love that Christ has for the children of men and that the children of men should have for one another. It is the highest, noblest, and strongest kind of love and the most joyous to the soul.

I'm not a Christian, but I'm going to throw out a definition anyway:
Charity is doing beneficial things for people whom one does not know that do not externally benefit one's self.
The lack of external benefits means that it's not charity if I donate money to a cause because I want praise or reward.

Giving without expectation of external return. If you give just because it makes you feel good, I think that still qualifies as charity.....as long as you do not take credit in any way

Charity to me is giving of yourself by way of support and love, or monetary gift or clothing, what ever the people have a need for.

Unselfish giving. This can be denomstrated in many forms not just monitary donations. To me it means giving of yourself to help someone else and not expecting any reward.

Being kind to others and helping others who are in need. Encouraging someone who is down and having problems. Being there for others when they need help
Charity is love and when we love all of mankind, we are willing to go out of our way to help them if and when we can.
