If you are looking in a mirror and walk away, is the guy in the reflection still standing there? How do you know?

No. When you walk away, he goes home with the little man in the refrigerator who turns the light on when you open the door.

Just because I'm walking away, does not mean I am not still looking at the mirror. Plus, even if I was not looking, some one else could be looking, and they will see my reflection walking away as I walk away.
And I don't need to look, and no one else needs to look. I know my reflection is also walking away, because it's just a reflection, it's not another world. Heck, even if it was another world, everything I do in the mirror, is what my reflection does. We've never done anything differently, so as I walk away, my reflection will also walk away, because in the mirror, we always do as each other does.

I don't have a reflection in the mirror. Some people said that means I'm a vampire, but I know that is a lie and I'll suck the blood out of anyone who disagrees with me!

Because you can put a handheld mirror in front of you to look at your reflection behind you. Either that or you could walk backwards and keep facing the mirror.

The image remains in the mirror a short time after you leave, because of the finite speed of light. It takes some time for the photons to leave you, bounce off the mirror, and come back. In other words, the image in the mirror is always delayed by an amount that depends on its distance.

Spirits are sometimes trapped in mirrors. So this is a real possibility.
Whatever you do do not break the mirror. You will not release the spirit. Contact an clergy person or a person who works with the paranormal, they will know what to do.
