God doesn't give us more "temptation" then we can handle and he always provides a way out. That is what Scripture says. The real question is do you choose to take the way out?
And secondly, many people commit suicide because they have a diseased brain.

Two of the people I have known personally who committed suicide did so, I believe, because they managed to convince themselves that there was nobody who loved them, that they were in fact unlovable. In neither case was this even remotely true - and therein lies a great part of the tragedy.
Seeing one thing but believing something different to be the truth is certainly one symptom of a possible mental disorder - and therein lies another part of the tragedy.
And not seeking help when help is there on offer is the rest of it. Both of these people became obsessed with themselves: their perspective on life was dangerously skewed, and they failed to see the terrible impact the manner of their death would have on other people - especially those close to them who did actually love them very much.
The sadness of all this is so great that I very much regret that question and answers here become, sometimes, an exercise in point-scoring. You can talk about God's love if that is something you believe in; you can demonstrate God's love, too, in practical action; but you can't make someone accept it if they do not believe it or do not want to believe it.

I do not follow a "faith" but I believe it to be true that we are "given the back to carry the cross" to use a Christian expression. Those who commit suicide sadly are in such a trough of despair that they see nothing beyond death as a release. Suicide has nothing to do with "God" but with the human psyche, just as people say why would an all loving God allow the horrors that go on in the world? Man allows it, it has nothing to do with God we have free will, commonly known as man's inhumanity to man. For those of us lucky enough not to suffer in this way, we do find the strength to rise above what life throws at us, however terrible. The only way out of it, for some, is death, we are strong enough mentally to realise that this is not an option. For others they can see no other way, their reasoning and logic has been tempered by their mental fragility. I have not expressed myself very well but I hope you get some understanding of what I mean.

If everyone committed suicide when it seemed the only way out through despair, the rivers would be full of the body's, and the branches of the trees would be creaking with the weight etc, etc!?!?. We, all of us have our fits of impatience from time to time.
Those poor unfortunates who have committed suicide were not thinking right at that particular point in their lives, they were ill. Not thinking of those they left behind. I only hope that God can forgive them for their actions.

There is no where in the bible where it says God never gives us more than we can handle. The closest to this you can find is, that no temptation comes our way that God does not provide for us a way out.
People will choose to take their "own" way out, sadly enough. Sometimes a person cannot see beyond despair. I understand that, and pray for any who are in this terrible place, that Jesus will give them hope.

Because they don't bring their worries or troubles to God in prayer and let Him take care of them which he will although it may not be the answer you are looking for. He's always there to help you get through your problems if you'll just listen to Him in prayer. People commit suicide because they are in despair and feel hopeless and see a very narrow limit of options for themselves when actually, they have lots of options.

the act of suicide in our culture is the result of a mental illness. There are cultures such as the Japanese where suicide is part of that culture and people do it because they have been taught from childhood that it is the correct thing to do in certain circumstances. It is nothing to do with some imaginary god

I don't know. My mate did when he was 19, but he was picked on a lot and he wasn't a Christian. Maybe because some Christians aren't always aware of who they really are, they get bad teaching in the church, they dont spend time with God, they don't allow God to direct their lives, they don't read the Bible and don't stand on His promises. It's entirely possible to accept Jesus as your Lord and then have nothing to do with God or the church for the rest of your life. I know, I'm married to someone like that. If you don't believe the truth, you won't be able to live by it.
And of course, non Christians have no faith at all.

The Bible doesn't say that anywhere.
It does say that there is no temptation that we can't overcome. But that's assuming we are even trying to overcome it, which probably means we're a Christian, to be concerned about temptation at all.
People who commit suicide usually are leaving God out of their lives. Life is much to hard to handle for a lot of people. It's with God's help that we deal with tragedies and make life something meaningful and also it is God who comforts us.

A large portion of suicides are those who have become mentally ill. An actual physiological observance of the brain can be noted in true clinical depression, and it can produce feelings of darkness and gloom far beyond what most could ever imagine.
People judge people who commit suicide make me sick. Many have gone much longer than those who judge them could have ever gone. The body actually begins to break down after a period of chemical unbalance, you can't even imagine what it feels like to try to move but not be able to.
