Haven't you noticed whenever the government claims a tax will be temporary, the time period is around 30 years so that when the time runs out, most people either forget and not enough care to do anything about it? Look at toll roads, most of them were only supposed to last 30 years. They're still charging to use them, that'll never change, not with the money they can generate.

This is why you shouldn't vote for tax and spend liberals, because they'll keep piling taxes on us with no hope of them going away.

Payroll withholding was supposed to stop after World War Two. Not the paying of taxes. We just got rid of a tax we have been paying on phone service to defer the cost of the Spanish-American War.

Our temporary and voluntary income tax was promised to come off as soon as world war one was paid for -

It is of course no longer a volunteer tax and say the word temporary and the government laughs at you -

At the time we were known as the Dominion of Canada -

Hmmm- Funny we were also told that the GST was a neutral tax that would replace the hidden manufacturing tax and that it would generate no new income -

I think the billion dollar surplus was sole based on the income of the GST

I don't know about you but I see a trend here

Because the programs the American people asked for are expensive. The Constitution does not have a time limit on taxes.

People want FEMA to respond to a record hurricane in the Gulf, but want them to do it for free.
