Having taken economics, I understand the reluctance to lower prices tends to be longer than how quickly they would change if it was raising prices. However, we ARE watching, and put them on notice we are watching!! Books, greeting cards, cars, etc. are guilty.

There has been lots of raising prices in some sectors because of the booming economy and food to various crop failures. Hopefully the guilty industries don't try use these as excuses. Don't give them excuses, and let them know we will buy elsewhere!

Actually, the CDN $ closed higher than the US $ on Friday... $1.01.85 I believe. Regardless how high our dollar goes, I still won't be going stateside to shop. I refuse to give our government GST and/or duty on things I buy down there. Plus... the cost of gas and the time wasted sitting in the lines to go through US customs isn't worth it. I have better ways ti spend 2 + hours.

It will take time for prices to fall. The goods that are on the shelf now were likely made months ago so the retailers paid for them with "old" Canadian dollars.

No, money is money. If I need to buy something I'm going to buy it regardless of the price. If I can't afford it then I'll have to do without or do a better job at saving. I have more important things in my life than to worry about saving a few pennies.

Nope because prices are coming down on everything from groceries to vehicles, so its all good, but thanks for asking. I'm waiting for the price of books to come down, then I will be happy, shouldnt be too long now. Gas has dropped a lot already.

No, were just happy that we don't have to deal with high exchange rates when we come down to visit you guys. Although it would definitely be better if our prices dropped.

Well , we have free health care, a great social system to help those who are in need, one day maybe I will be in need. I don't mind paying higher taxes or prices to have security in my life. Peace!
