mormons don't believe in "hell" as is depicted in some other religions....
Latter-day revelations speak of hell in at least two ways. First, it is another name for spirit prison, a temporary place in the postmortal world for those who died without a knowledge of the truth or those who were disobedient in mortality. Second, it is the permanent location of Satan and his followers and the sons of perdition, who are not redeemed by the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Spirit prison is a temporary state in which spirits will be taught the gospel and have the opportunity to repent and accept ordinances of salvation that are performed for them in temples. Those who accept the gospel may dwell in paradise until the Resurrection. After they are resurrected and judged, they will receive the degree of glory of which they are worthy. Those who choose not to repent but who are not sons of perdition will remain in spirit prison until the end of the Millennium, when they will be freed from hell and punishment and be resurrected to a telestial glory

Well no not really. The only person who can do that is the person who's soul is in Hell. We believe that people can get a second chance after they have died to make things right- but only they can do that. Nobody else can. Our eternal salvation is only determined by our behavior, not that of anyone else. We can always pray that those who have died and were not leading good lives, will be led to the truth in the Spirit world.

We don't believe in the traditional Heaven/Hell scenario- www.Mormon.Org Will give more information about our beliefs in Heaven.

No.

We do believe that there is missionary work going on between death and resurrection. During this period, a person is a spirit. We believe that eventually every person will have the opportunity to accept or reject the gospel of Jesus Christ, either in this life or the next. If a person has never heard about Jesus Christ before he dies, he will be taught by another spirit who did. However, a person needs to be baptized in order to enter the kingdom of God (Matthew 3:5) so we perform proxy baptisms for the dead. We don't know who has accepted it or not, so we do them for everyone we can, and then it is up to that person to accept or reject it. This is a very short and incomplete explanation of our beliefs. Well, considering I've never heard of this before, I would say that we do not believe it.

Of course, our version of hell is more like being sent to stand in the corner and think about what we did wrong. The length of time the punishment lasts depends on how bad we've been. Once we've been punished long enough, then we are released.

Prayer won't change my "crimes" (sins). Repentance is what is important. If I am truly repentant, and do not repent the sin, then God forgives me.

No, that sounds more like Catholics.

We believe that, if one dies without ever hearing the gospel or being able to accept it or be baptised, that we can do these tings in their behalf, because they will still have the ability to choose where they are after death. We do vicarious baptisms, and they are given the choice, accept or reject.

Whoever told you that we "Pray" a person out of Hell, has their facts seriously messed up.

We do perform vicarious ordinances in our Temples.

It is our doctrine that this ordinance is taken to the individual in the spirit prison "your perception of hell" and they have the choice to accept it or reject it.

We are not privy to know their decision in this life.

We do this out of love for our kindred dead. We may even waste our time on many souls but this is not what it is about.

There is no prayer involved in "bringing them out" of the spirit prison.

Nope....not sure where you got that one.

However, Mormons don't believe that you go to either heaven or hell, end of story. There's a bit more to it than that. I don't have time to go into that now though.
