As per Wikipedia (reporting the 2005 ranking of pro capita income published by the IMF) Italy is ranked as 20th and its pro capita income is US$ 30.732 pro year.
Another source (even if less "reliable") updated Jan 01st,2007 is placing Italy as 31st of the ranking with a pro capita income of US$ 29.700 pro year.

Edit # 1 - I know that for many Italian people real situation is different from above results but statistics sometimes is unreal if related to single persons. One man eating 2 chickens and 1 man eating nothing in statistics figure as if both are eating 1 chicken each. I live in Italy and I know that's true that there is a lot of people surviving with 800/1000 Euro per month but we have also rich people here and the average of the statistics gives above results. This can't be denied by anybody....and doesn't deserve thumbs down!!

I appreciate those who give figures that come from certified sources but the real country earns between 800 and 1,200 euro per month
