After the apple is cut into pieces, squeeze a small amount of lemon juice over the white meat of the fruit.
Keep it in a ziplock baggie or tupperware container.
Refrigerate, or keep the fruit cool until you are ready to eat it.
[edit] TipsLime juice may be substituted in a pinch
Don't use too much juice... your apple may taste tart!
Pineapple Juice may also be substituted and doesn't leave the apple (even after rinsing) as tart as the lemon or lime juice. It's convenient to keep the small cans of pineapple juice in your pantry for this purpose.

pour a quart of water into a clean mist bottle and add two tablespoons of lemon or lime juice to it (bottled is fine). After slicing the apples just give them a quick spritz with the mixture and pack them up.

After cutting, immediately put them in acidulated water...that is water with some lemon, orange or lime juice squeezed in. It doesn't have to be a lot of juice. just enough so that you can barely taste it.

Sprinkle lime/lemon juice on them...the acidity helps the fruit not turn brown...this also works for ripe bananas as well....

Soak in water with a twist of lemon for a few minutes. If storing them, leave them in a bowl with the lemon water.
