Yes, indeed. The Bible is frightening in many places.

…Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (Hebrews 10:30-31)
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge… (Proverbs 1:7)
…but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. (Isaiah 66:2)

All too true. But if you're right with him you have no need to fear hell any longer. :)

lol

No, you really dont need to fear hell anymore than you need fear going to latveria or the planet apokolips, or accidentally winding up on the death star.

You are right though that the bible tries to be frightening. Its a basic method of control that works well with the gullible and uneducated - scare them into obeying you.

Still, any person of even average intelligence can distinguish between reality and fantasy, and knows that the fear mongering is silly and without basis in reality.

Not to be a downer, for all I know what you're saying about hell is true.

But repeatedly posting questions about religion that only serve to allow you a forum to preach to us without actually asking a real question with an intent on getting some kind of answer is..

kinda like spam. Isn't it?

A God who truly loves you wouldn't want to see you suffer, therefore wouldn't send you to hell for all eternity as punishment for a lifetime of sin...

In th event your God does...that's not a truly loving god...that's a spirit with an narcissistic deity complex.

Like heaven - hell is just a mythical place or the way you approach life.

If your God is omniscient he knows where you'll end up since before you were ever thought of. Why worry? What difference does it make?
