Is it fair, right and okay to build a physics project using a how to build your own guide. My teacher said we can't buy any kits that have all the materials ready to build but is it okay to buy a guide explaining how to build it if they give us the materials. Is it still moral and right. I am having trouble with this. Please Help!!!!

Absolutely, it is OK to use a guide and/or kit with raw materials. (But not a ready to assemble kit with pre fab parts). I would also consider merging of several prefab kits into a new item as being OK. (Basically the kits become a source of parts and materials which are assembled into something other than there original designed intent)

During construction you will learn new skills and become very familiar with the device as you fabricate it. Many guides provide additional details as to the how and why of a project which are not found in an assembly manual of a pre fab kit. Also guide may provide information of something that is close to what you need but i snot exactly what you need. It would then be you to you to modify the item to meet your needs.

Even though a guide may provide a material list there is no guaranty that you will be able to find every single part in stock or available or even a source of where to buy a particular item. Cost of an item would be a big factor in selecting a substitution from the original design. Substitutions from the original guide may require changes to be made to accomodate the substitution.

An item contstructed from scratch it may still require adjustments and tuning in order to function, especially if substitutions were made. You will definately learn alot about an item by building thentroubleshooting it and getting it to work vs assembling a fully functional item from a kit.

KISS shop It undemanding stupid includes innovations -- countless the main sought after experiments in history of Physics have been extremely undemanding, Hooke dropping gadgets and measuring g (the only you do interior the class right this moment with evacuated tube, easy switches and digital timers). How with reference to the frictional stress of jelly (viscosity F~ preportional to hurry) by employing rotating a paddle in a bowel of jelly slowly because it instruments and measuring the torque! Is radiation random, use a GM tube to degree some undemanding radiactive source and spot if the count huge form cost is random (you will could desire to contemplate history and rot-regulation into attention), what does random mean in this context - mixture records and physics! My very final suggestion locate out if people can see in close to infra-pink or close to U/V, i'm uncertain the form you will possibly try this although; you will possibly desire to apply a U/V lamp or dim easy-bulb or something - reliable relaxing although - scientific physics oriented distinctive eh.

well, it depends. If your teacher wants u to learn to write a guide or experimental design, then its kinda wrong. But if the purpose of the project is to build something hands-on, then I guess its ok..

But its up to you. if want to spend some more time on it and learn more, just do everything by yourself. just use it as a guide to make ur own project!! You will feel like u actually made something feel more proud!!

If you worry more about solving the problem given to you than the "moral" implications of the way the task was defined, you might actually succeed. On the other hand, if you keep fretting about how amoral and unfair the world is, you are sure to miss your deadline.

As long as you understand what you are doing and how the pieces interact with one another it will be fine.
