I was at the grocery store and my cell phone rings. Its a telemarketer from the same marketing inc that keeps calling me every day. I nicely interuped her teling her I wasnt interested and that I get calls all the time from them. I even asked one telemarketer to please put my number on there no call list. She continued to talk and tell me about there other free products and she sounded so sweet that I didnt want to be rude. In the mean time, I have my two sons with me and Im pushing a heavy cart full of groceries with my youngest in the seat and Im due in 4 weeks with our third boy. The kids are screaming they want things or they are teasing each other and everytime I talk to my kids the lady asks if im still there. So by then Im getting mad. I tell her my situation again and she says sorry and that she has only a couple more free offers and starts reading off my address and how she was sending me magazines now. So I now have to try to get her not to do this etc etc. WHAT DO U DO?

Why don't you simply lay down and make it easier to let people walk all over you? Contact your state and find out what you need to do to get on the no call list. Next time she calls ask for her name and the name of the company and simply tell her that the State Attorney General asked you to get it since you have asked her not to call. Once you have it, hang up the phone. Or ask for her manager immediately and tell him/her that you have asked to not be called, you are not interested and you have reported them to the State. Get their name too. You could not answer it as well, but then that's just too simple.

The only way to handle telemarketers is to politely say, "No, thank you, I am not interested." Then, hang up. Don't even bother waiting for their comeback because their job is to persuade you otherwise. If you are polite, then they can't really get mad, can they? After all, you are saving them time that they could use to talk with someone who might actually buy!

well, having been a telemarketer (yes, I'm an awful person lol), the person calling you has no choice, but to call you because they have an automatic dialer. And to get them to stop calling ou must ask them to put you on all of their donot call lists for the company. if you ask to just be put on the donot call list they'll just put you on the list for that product, but will call you with other stuff. so, make sure you're put on all the do not call lists for the company etc..

If they won't stop talking long enough for me to get a word in, I just hang up on them. If they keep calling since you know what company it is look in your phone book there should be a number you can call to complain and they will get violations if they call you again. Keep track of when they call.

Just hang up the phone. That's the best way.

Ask to speak to her supervisor. When the supervisor comes on the line, tell them to remove your number from their list, either that or ask them out since this is in singles and dating

even if she sounds sweet, she's being totally rude.
its not fair for her to do that. especially as a telemarketer! just hang up the phone...there's nothing wrong with that.
