I have a job interview this afternoon at a nursing home. I am not too certain what to wear. I'd love to hear from DON's!

Just clean clothes. Nothing fancy.

You don't have to be in scrubs, a suit, etc. I am just looking for someone who cares about their appearance but, not to the point that they would only think of that and not the work they would have to do.

To help prevent the spread of disease you wear gloves when you wash up a patient or when a patient has something like shingles or an infected wound or pneumonia. You wash your hands after each patient you care for and when you carry dirty laundry you hold it away from your body. If you have a cough then you will wear a mask so you don't get the residents sick. If they have something that requires isolation there will be a table or cabinet outside the door with mask, gloves and paper gowns for you to wear and a special bin to put them in as well as special cleanser at the sink. Hope this helps.

Remember first impressions are lasting impressions. The same as you wear for any interview. It does not matter if you are interviewing for McDonald's, or a grocery store. A suit is preferable, but if you do not have one, white shirt, blue or black pants/skirt, black shoes, hair must be neat, no smoking before interview, nails clean and clear or polished in a neutral color, stockings must me neutral, no wild colors of any sort. Also, no loud makeup or perfume, could be irritant or others may have an allergic reaction to some perfumes. Smile, brush your teeth, no gum chewing, firm handshake, good eye contact, and no slang. Also, click on the link below, it offer very good information on dressing for an interview.

One thing you should not wear - BLUE JEANS AND TENNIS SHOES!! It is perfectly acceptable to wear scrubs to a job interview if that is the required attire for the job. Make sure your shoes are clean, play down the make up and jewelry, no perfume.

Don't wear any jeans or a t-shirt or something like that. But try a skirt and a blouse. Or if you like to wear a suit, you can wear that.
