So random but I just read on the Straight Dope like an hour ago that 40 percent of cats are ambidextrous (can use both paws easily) and the other 60 percent have a dominant paw (either right or left pawed).

Yes they do. Make a box with a hole in it large enough for one paw, put a ping pong ball in or some dry cat food. The cat will favor one paw over the other to reach in and get it. It's an experiment they did back in the 1960's when the question was being researched.

I believe YES. My cat has always hit his toys with his Left paw. Plus, he swats my dog with his Left paw.

I have been observing him for 10 years and he always does this.
