My husband and I moved out of our trailor about two months ago. during the move, we had people moving in the trailor next to us. this guy came up to my husband and some of our friends and asked if were getting rid of anything in the house. (so basically from the start we had a weird feeling about these guys.) We got allot of stuff out so we slept at our knew place. For couple days we didn't go back to our old place because we were trying to get everything organize before we brought anything else in. When we went back we found out that we were robbed. This is what they took - cd player, wedding ring ( this was the first time my husband ever took it off, but he has a salt problem and if he eats it to much his fingures swell so when he took it off he figured he'll put it down on our bed stand and get it later, well our friends went back and took that and put the ring on a shelf in our bathroom.) they took basacally all our freezer food. they took all my husbands music cds.

they also took our coolers and can opener. also they took my husband psp at first we thought just the cd player was gone. bec. I remember leaving it there to listen too. so it was about couple days before we relize more was missing.we thought our friend took the ring, then they told us they left it there. well anyways we talkied to the people and guy told us his cousin did it and he won't tell us his name but he'll try to get the ring back. evetually we called the cops and they went over next door and they confessed. they pawned off the psp but they still had the ring, and our food ,they also had our lawn chair on there deck ( like i woudn't notice it)and the rest of the stuff they wouldn't confess too . the woman that helped is under age. so the guy went to jail. My question is will they have to pay us money or to the state. because I know they owe some money for what they did. or could we take them to court to get money for stuff we know they took..

Also the guy told us he knows where we live so if he finds anything about the ring he'll come over.( scarry) thats when we decided to call the police. we had a deputy there and he called for back up and us look outside to make sure they don't try to leave. it was bit scarry. also I wanted to knock the guy out because he seen my baby boy and started to talk to him and even touched him. ( this was before we were sure if they didn't) my husband is too nice he hates to start anything. all he wanted is the ring back and will never called th police. sorry about how long it is..

You can certainly file a civil suit against them, though payment of damages should be part of their sentence. Look into what their sentence included. If it does not cover your loses, look into filing a civil suit, especially for the things they confessed to.

You may file a civil suit for the things they took. If it is under $5000.00, then you can file a small claims case. You can submit the police report and outcome of the individual that went to jail as evidence of the theft. As far as anything else, I would try to move as far away from these people as soon as possible. They are likely to retaliate, even though they were in the wrong since the beginning.

Report them to the police. This might not be the first time they have done something like this. They might already have a rap sheet of stealing stuff. Stealing is a crime. They need to pay for what they took.

Call the cops and tell them everything do not touch anything where the stolen stuff last was.they will check 4 finger prints and see who stole your stuff and if you tell them you think its your neighbor they will question then and find out to see if they stole it or not

If I were you, I'd go to my lawyer and see what could be done. Nobody should be able to get away with that kind of behavior. Go to your lawyer and tell him what you posted here and get something done about it.
