do you still deny evolution occurs when you take advantage of any of the many advancements in medicine that have been made because of our understanding of evolution and it's useful application in the field of medicine? before i get any "smart" remarks, please read the following u.c. berkley article which discusses the application of evolutionary science in medicine.

jinenglish, aren't the story of creation and evolution contradicting of one another? the story of creation doesn't say god created single-celled organisms which over billions of years evolved into man, does it?

ms. lady, i don't know one serious evolutionists who believes that either. who ever said we evolved from monkeys? we have a common ape-like ancestor. that's not the same thing as saying we evolved from monkeys.

Great article... so clear and easy to understand. I do hope people pay attention to this!
pwwatson8888: I cannot imagine why people whould be getting "more stupid." Any ideas? Do you suppose it could be the decline of adequate science education thanks to the religious fanatics who would rather their children usher us into an era of willful ignorance than be taught about how things really work?

I'm not a creationist, but I do feel you have hit upon one of the many instances of hypocrisy involved in the creationist myth. It's sort of like the vegetarian who wears a leather belt. You don't approve of killing animals, but you don't mind taking advantage of the fact that others do. Creationists "don't believe" in evolution, but they will accept all the advantages of the fact that scientists use the theory of evolution every day.
I really do wonder why they are so adamant to hang onto what has been so conclusively disproved. The only thing I can figure is that they enjoy the persecution complex involved in having everyone else laughing at them.
But pity the poor fundamentalist's kid, who does not get an adequate science education and therefore cannot compete for spaces in good colleges, is terribly limited in what professions he can pursue, and generally is being doomed to working for the fringes, perhaps becoming missionaries or writing for Christian publications. Or become soldiers or cops . . .
Hmmmmm, maybe that IS why they do it! They wish to raise a crop of marginalized young people who will work for little or no salary. But what a thing to do to your own kid!

Anymore evolution is more inclusive than it was when I was in school. We called simple changes within a species variation. This was not thought to be evolution since it didn't cause a change in a species. This article you wanted me to look at is no differnt it's all about variation not a word that viruses are becoming some new form of life... Out of the billions an billions of generation that viruses have gone through since man has become aware of their existence there is no evidence that any have moved on to become a higher form of life.. Evolution is a frad!!! IHS Jim

Your use of the word "evolution" is misplaced. To create a chemical reaction or breed animals to have different colors of hair or eyes or to see an animal adapt to their surroundings does not make them become a different creature.
Most scientists are able to torture animals in test labs with little thought to the their suffering since most scientists don't believe in Creation. To them, animals are nothing more than a disposable creature whose only purpose is to serve their master.
So tell me. Since you think people went from animal to human, where is the proof? Which chimps will magically wake up one day as a human? Which race is the most evolved? As you can see, your theory is totally wacked.
I believe God created us. We did not evolve from apes, chimps or monkeys. It is very difficult for any scientist or someone with a scientific background or interest to understand things they cannot see. They need physical proof.
You are like the rich man who cannot enter heaven because he cannot give up his riches on earth.
You have a choice. Jesus Christ is very real in my life. I hope someday you open your heart to His Love so you can know the Truth.
Until then, you will continue to try to prove Darwins theory to avoid the acceptance of a Creator Who has always been and always will be.
When Jesus Christ returns to gather His people, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord. He is coming soon. Will you be ready?

We know that evolution occurs. We just do not believe that the evolution theory is a fact. God is in control.

again, the scientists are *still* trying to find the root of diseases and illnesses. i do NOT deny evolution occurs, but i think it's more adaptation than evolution. how can chickens (or whatever) have evolved from dinosaurs, when dinosaurs were completely wiped out? it's questions like that that make me question evolution. HOWEVER, i really do believe that homo sapiens were a simpler species at one time...but how did we learn to get to where we are today?
i'm still stickin' to ddism.

The British National Health Service, the transport infrastructure, the roads especially are appalling. In engineering there is a world wide shortage of qualified intelligent people to perform thermal mechanical and heat transfer calculations. This totally disproves evolution because people are getting more stupid rather than wiser.
The advances are there because God gave us minds to learn. Given the state of the world few found wisdom. Medicine was given to us by God in the first place.
Ezekiel 47:12
And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.
If we were evolving we would not add MSG and Aspartame to our food and artificial colorings. God knew what was best for us and gave it to us.
Genesis 1
29, God said: " Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, that is on the surface of all of the Earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed. It shall be food for you. I have given every green plant for food."

Kent Hovind could never keep the smile off his face. Although for some reason I think that constant slight smile is only because he was making so much money off these idiots that wanted to donate to his "church".

Though there have been several advancements due to micro-evolution, we cannot even prove macro-evolution well enough prove that it has benefits.
Most Young Earth Creationists depend on breeding and micro-evolution to prove their theories.
