Portuguese isn't spoken only in Portugal. It's also spoken in Brazil, which is a huge country, Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, St. Tomé, East Timor and Macau. I agree that Spanish is widely spoken. So is Arabic, I guess, but it isn't spoken in all muslim countries (Turkey, Iran, Indonesia, etc.). English, better or worse, is a universal language nowadays, but probably not so much as a mother tongue, even though the US, Canada and Australia are big. As for French, it isn't that widely spoken, except for France, Belgium and a part of Switzerland plus some small countries in Africa and islands.
