I've got this sensation in the back of my nasal passages that's bugging me, but is normal with the change of the season when the air gets cool and dry. Seems like it will get worse before it gets any better. Other than a vaporizer and more fluids, what nasal spray is best. Saline seems to help, but is there something better? Thanks!

When I get a headache , 99% of the time it means I'm getting a cold, and so I will drink a huge amount of water that day. When I drink the water, I'm not sick the next day. Times where I didn't drink the water (due to the fact that at school, most teachers don't let us use the bathroom, so I couldn't drink a huge amount of water), then I do get sick the next day. If I swallow, and my throat hurts, then it means I will have a cold, and then I also do the water-drinking thing I mentioned previously. I've never gotten food poisoning before. I've never gotten the flu. I get a cold about once a year

Apparently, Echinacea (not sure if I spelled that right!) has been tested vigorously and it can help reduce the time that you will suffer with the symptoms of a cold and also lessen the likelyhood of getting one in the first place. You can buy it from any good herbal shop! Take some of that plus some extra vitamin C - as recommended by the Readers Digest in-house doctors!

try not to use nasal spray unless you really have to, you can come to rely on them too much. Stick to fluid, rest and the vaporizer. Some things just have to run their course.

Geting a lot of sleep is great for when you feel that a bad cold might be coming on. And make sure your body is getting all of the nutrients it needs in one day! Without those nutrients it can't fight the germs!

Drinking orange juice helps. But you can take a little nyquil if you feel a cold coming. Even though it tastes awful, it works wonders.
